I consider it to be a bad thing that the right is so addicted to dissidence they will dissent from the straighforward, traditional narratives of every work, largely as a result of being collectively incapable of writing a work of their own. They're actually just liberals
The Jedi actually deserved to go extinct. Their entire ideology is inherently antithetical to life itself. You’re not allowed to have attachments, show emotion, love anyone, be passionate about anything, or embody really any of the qualities that make a sentient living being a sentient living being. Anything that’s life giving is attacked for being associated with the Sith, who would otherwise be completely correct about everything if it weren’t for their over the top cruelty and cartoonish villainy. The entire core tenets of the Jedi Order almost perfectly match the late-stage liberal fantasy of a world where existential divisions are all papered over and everyone and everything is forcibly dissolved into a universalist soup managed by a supposedly apolitical priestly caste who wield absolute power while lying through their teeth about how they’re just defenders of democracy. And like all Liberal orders, the Jedi are so dogmatically committed to the false promise of universalism, neutrality, proceduralism, and “balance” (aka not taking your own side) that they can’t see any existential threats until it is far too late.

Another good thing about the 20-second-long conference room scene in The Phantom Menace is that it's part of how the film builds up the Jedi's mystique. The protocol droid informs the Neimoidians on the bridge that the ambassadors are Jedi Knights, and the Neimoidians fly into a panic. They start arguing about who should go in to distract them while Lord Sidious is contacted for further instructions. Neither of the Neimoidians wants to go because they're so terrified of the Jedi, so they decide to send the droid back in. So we cut back to the conference room and the Jedi are just calmly sitting at a table wondering why the Neimoidians are taking so long. They politely accept drinks from the droid and casually sip them. Qui-Gon comments that the Neimoidians are unusually frightened for some reason. Then Sidious appears, and he's alarmed about the Jedi too. He decides they need to just straight-up kill them, right now. At this point the Jedi haven't even done anything but wait quietly in a conference room. But everyone around them is acting like Darth Vader just arrived.

According to George Lucas, he was evaluated when he was in high school or junior high and he was determined to have an IQ "in the nineties." This is the man outsmarting all of you at every turn. We have documentary evidence that he can't spell the word "lizard" properly. How does that feel?

This is why going mainstream sucks. That is distinct from having power. You want power but you don’t want attention. You want to be free from inert necessity to pander to the stupid masses.

Australia before the 1980s I think had their own culture but the Boomers and Gen X preferred American movies, American music, and started taking interest in American sports, politics, etc. Queensland is the South, Victoria is the PNW, NSW is Virginia, and Tassie is New England.
Australia is the only country I’ve ever gone to outside of the U.S. and I’ve spent much of this year there and what I will say is that the biggest culture shock for me was and what still astounds me day in and day out in that country is how completely dominated they are by American culture and American identity as such. It is beyond anything I could have ever imagined. They don’t have a national identity anymore. It doesn’t exist. Not at scale at least. I think BAP has talked about this broadly more recently, but every cultural pillar and outlet of theirs is just overwhelmingly imported US culture. It goes so deep it leaves me without words to explain it. My jaw has been dropped since I first stepped foot on the soil and I have never been able to pick it up since. And to see that they are actively hostile towards me for being a non self-flagellating American is even more insane because they are fish in water with America and American identity through in through in all but name. How they don’t see the absurdity and irony in it all is beyond me, but I clearly underestimated America’s totalizing and undisputed power before I left it for the first time.

"Hey CT-3109, look over there. Those guys are from the 212th and 501st." "What are they still doing here?" "Command said they were leaving two rotations ago. Why are they out on patrol?" "Heheheh. Well, HE doesn't look like he's doing much patrolling."

Since Zoomers and young men are planting our flag upon Anakin Skywalker and the Star Wars Prequels as a whole, I thought this would also be a good time to direct this same audience to another masterful work that strikes those same perfect chords in us and that is Reinhard von Lohengramm of Legend of the Galactic Heroes. I highly encourage those who love Anakin Skywalker to give it a shot, because this can show you a version of an Anakin-like character seizing his destiny but without a tragic fall.
