In 30+ years in politics and media, I've never seen a primary candidate who vastly outspent their opponent and lost then use the final days of the general election trying to still make the election about themselves and to sabotage their party. A truly epic commitment to the bit.

"His wife was raped in front of him, so that they could get information from him."
Israeli academic Mordechai Kedar was confronted over a quote suggesting that threatening to rape Palestinian resistance fighters’ mothers or sisters could deter attacks, during a discussion on Piers Morgan Uncensored.
Kedar denied making the statement, but the exact wording from a 2014 Haaretz interview was read out, leaving him struggling to explain the remarks.
When pressed, Kedar attempted to shift the context of the quote, rather than directly address its wording.
British commentator Benjamin Moser then placed the remarks in the wider context of Israeli society, pointing to demonstrations defending Israeli soldiers accused of sexually abusing a Palestinian detainee and public rallies held in their support.
Moser questioned how people could take to the streets to defend soldiers accused of such horrific abuse, highlighting the disturbing public response to sexual violence against Palestinians.

Academic freedom and freedom of speech are being completely dismantled through the Palestine exception. Behind the fig leaf of limited symbolic sanctions, the new Labour government is continuing its investment in genocide denial and the suppression of basic rights.

Swedish academic Andreas Malm has been denied entry to the UK over his plans to appear on a panel alongside Palestine Action cofounder Huda Ammori because the gov't says his “presence in the UK is not considered to be conducive to the public good”.

The future of #ArtificialIntelligence is not pre-determined. As a technology developed by human beings, its future depends on the choices we make. We therefore have the responsibility to guide, change and, when necessary, reject its applications. A reliable system that serves the human person is of greater value than one that is exceptionally powerful but whose consequences cannot be adequately foreseen or controlled.

Two sides of my twitter right now:
1) People I admire who were also inspired by Patrick Stewart' Picard and who carry that into their lives and work.
2) Committed ghouls who somehow managed to watch Star Trek TNG without ever getting the actual point of it all.
EL-SAYED: RFK JR. was in town this week. He said that the 500 million Arabs in the world had never contributed anything to science. But to be fair, he is an expert on people who never contributed anything to science.
He didn't bother to show up when 8000 people were infected by the shit lettuce. But he wants to come here and lecture you about potentially electing and arab-american to the U.S. Senate
My guy has zero doctorates. I have two of them

The butthurt handling of this primary defeat by Haley Stevens and now her fiance after they had tens of millions in outside money spent on her behalf is appalling. The next SecDef or a Trump SCOTUS judge is on the line here! Totally pathetic & reveals that the loss was deserved

I'm losing my mind. Millions of Muslim and Arab Americans were told in '24 to ignore a genocide in which some of them lost multiple family members and vote for Biden/Harris to stop the GOP. They were "expected" to do it.
And no one is "bigoted" against Stevens - she's not Jewish.
A real mask off moment.

Abdul El-Sayed: “We are being actively bullied by the dumbest people in the room. Donald Trump is an idiot. He has one genius which is getting attention. Because his dad never gave him enough, because he was a nepo baby, he craved attention and used the bullying tactics to get it. But the man is an idiot. Just a fool”
Boston’s so iconic for racism we star in concert montage history of hate with apartheid in South Africa, genocide in Gaza, assassination of MLK, British starvation, tyranny, colonial violence in Ireland. Only city name checked—but hey, we don’t hurl rocks at school buses anymore!

“Muslim women have more rights in Israel than in basically any Muslim country”
Israel ranks 84th on women’s status, tied with Kyrgyzstan, behind the UAE, Bahrain, Oman, Bosnia, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Albania, Kuwait, Qatar, Kazakhstan, Maldives, Kosovo.
Women vote and hold office across most of the Muslim world, and Pakistan, Bangladesh, Indonesia and Turkey have all had Muslim female heads of government.
Inside Israel, Muslim women face systemic racism and legal inequality, like the 2018 Nation-State Law and limits on bringing in Palestinian spouses. Millions of Palestinian women under Israeli rule in the West Bank and Gaza can’t vote at all in Israeli elections.
And in just three years Israel slaughtered more than 38,000 women and girls in Gaza and left 12,000 permanently disabled.
There is no place on earth where it’s less safe to be a Muslim woman than Israel and the places Israel dominates.

Watch this.
Lubna Speitan, author of the Greens4Palestine motion “Zionism is racism”, spells out the central obscenity of our age – the grotesque inversion whereby the victims of ethnic cleansing, Apartheid and genocide must constantly fend off accusations from their tormentors that it is they who are the racists.
“We as Palestinians are being silenced and gaslit and vilified [as we] witness the annihilation, the cold-blooded murder of our families, of our people… our children burnt with phosphorus, having to endure amputations with no anaesthetic, having their limbs torn and shredded, their bodies burnt by phosphorus, being starved to death … And to have to sit here … and try to bury my feelings so I can eloquently and diplomatically shield my anger, my rage, my anguish that every Palestinian is feeling, is an insult.” /1

A reminder that at the New York mayoral debate, a city election in America, all of the candidates were asked where they'd go abroad to first and they said Israel and only Zohran Mamdani said he'd stay at home in NYC.
So, remind me again: who are the ones 'obsessed with Israel?

For the first time, we're hearing about previously undisclosed connections between Palantir and some of America's biggest health insurers: Aetna, Humana, Cigna and Blue Shield of California.
A new report from the Center for Health & Democracy Education Fund examines documents obtained by the Electronic Frontier Foundation that claim Palantir's technology is already being used by insurers for functions including "decision support."
