Cards of Cronos — gameplay lesson 5: upgrade Hold a bigger card of a project you already have on the board? Play it straight on top. The new card takes the position over, keeps every dollar the old one earned, and inherits everything it was pumping — its own rate plus whatever the match had added to it. One action, not two. That is the whole reason to do it. The alternative: close the position first and play the big card into the empty slot. That costs two actions, but it banks the money and banked money cannot be rugged. Upgrade when you are racing. Bank when you are protecting.

Cards of Cronos gameplay lesson 3: take profit Close a project on your board and you bank every dollar it has made. That money is yours for good, no rug can touch it. It also frees a slot, so you can play something new. It costs $50K and one of your plays for the turn. That is the catch: every project you close is a card you do not play. Bank too early and you leave earnings on the table. Bank too late and someone rugs it first. 🃏
