Teenagers brains are still emotionally vulnerable. They experience emotions & impulses much more intensely due to massive psychological & physiological growth. 👇👇🧠🌱

All too often,we diagnose a young person when we actually should be diagnosing their environment. We need to look at their history of adversity, history of relational health. We put them in a system that they cannot adapt to then we punish them without diagnosing the system🧠🌱

An encouraging sign: I'm hearing more and more about Gen Z "rebels" who refuse to get sucked into the social media lifestyle. They choose to do hard things and analog things. washingtonpost.com/opinions/…

Most parents wish that their kids grew up in a world with no social media. Same level of regret as for alcohol and guns. Smartphones and Youtube were lower. Bicycles were regretted by only 9%, despite kids sometimes getting hurt on bikes: @HarrisPoll nytimes.com/2025/06/18/opini…

Co-regulation is not about doing something to a pupil. At its root, it's about positive relationships & how one nervous system responds to another.Pupils who did not receive co-regulation develop self-regulation skills to react or suppress uncomfortable feelings & emotions.🧠🌱

Children understanding their window of tolerance is important in doing trauma work or just working with children in schools. This teaches children how to manage their emotions under stress by giving them a toolkit of inner resources to self-soothe & keep within their window. 🧠🌱
