Lineworkers from @GreyStonePower & @CarrollEMC work together on a C-8 pole at our recent Exercise 2 training course. In this lab, apprentices deconstruct and rebuild a three-phase line with full climbing gear, as well as learn skills and gain knowledge for working in the field.

[1:05 PM Tues. 3/22] The risk for a few strong to severe storms exists across all of north & central Georgia later tonight through Wednesday. Be prepared for strong to damaging winds and heavy rain that could lead to localized flash flooding. A brief tornado is possible as well.

Please stay safe and weather aware.
SPC has expanded the slight risk further north and east for today's severe weather outlook. There is a risk of brief spin-up tornadoes as remnants of Ida make its way across north and central Georgia. Make sure to have multiple ways to receive warnings! #gawx #Ida

Restoration will be a slow process. We have about 30 broken poles already identified. There’s a lot of debris that is making traveling roads difficult. We have crews coming from Mastec, GreyStone Power, @SnappingShoalsEMC, @SouthernRivers EMC and @CarrollEMC to assist.

Please stay weather aware as severe weather enters our area tonight.
The highest threat for severe thunderstorms will increase late this afternoon across northwest Georgia and transition southeastward this evening into tonight. Know your severe weather safety place, and be prepared to act if a warning is issued for your area! #gawx

It’s vital that our rural communities have access to high-speed internet, especially during a pandemic. It allows for virtual learning, online sales for small businesses, and keeps rural Georgia connected. Thanks Sen. Gooch and our EMCs for your hard work! bit.ly/34eKjgu
