Despite not posting or engaging very much, I've been fortunate enough to connect with amazing people through Twitter!
Always interested in meeting more people within the SF tech community, as well as the new people in the real estate Twitter space

i did a few years at Caltech/USC's MD+PhD program, doing ai+health research, and am now on leave to build in this space

I built the most AI native cafe in the world as tech ops.
Iβll miss you @corgicafeco, always keep the community first. The community was the reason I joined in the first place.
Shoutout to all the legends at the cafe and upstairs, this wonβt be the last you hear or see me!

Don't feel bad about deleting that news letter from your inbox. You weren't going to read it anyways
Spoke to a new pre-seed VC who was raising fund 1. Asked about his thesis, he replied something along the lines of "You really just know it when you get the good energy from the pitch"
Is ~vibe-based~ investing still the strategy these days?π
After my time here in San Francisco, it's extremely apparent that there isn't enough diversity in CRE across the country
Are there any LGBTQ+ #Retwit folks I should know about? π³βπWould love to get to know you!
#Retwit operators, is it normal to be both excited and nervous?
We have our first LP subscription before officially starting fundraising for SFH Fund 1
Feel free to check out the brochure (link or DM) & let me know what you think. Never want to miss anything important w/ LPs...
Our Fund 1 investment brochure is finished! Thanks to #retwit friends who have given their pointers so far.
If you're interested in helping me make it better, download it and let me know what you think!

Seeing that SFH portfolios in midwest/ southern submarkets have better opex ratios than MF at ~=AUM. This is making a great opportunity for single-family as an asset class.
The caveat is the high upfront costs to access all of the capex & differed maintenance. What do you think?
As a CRE broker, I've seen a lot of ethically questionable housing and management practices. Rentals should be a safe space for families to thrive.
I believe that socially responsible private equity will be a positive impact on our communities

Hey #Retwit, going to be active in posting weekly progress on a new real estate private equity project I'm working on (cc: @_nightsweekends). Feel free to chime in with thoughts and ideas on anything you see from me over the next few weeks.

How do you make a fund structure that incentivizes long-term holds? (vs 3-7 yr exits) Crystalized promote seems to be a great way to achieve it π
Traditional Promote: Typically, GPs earn their promote (carried interest) upon the sale of an asset.
Crystallized Promote: This allows the GP to periodically "crystallize" a portion of their potential promote based on the increase in the asset's value, even without a sale.
The business model canvas sucks. Not a useful tool when actually practicing entrepreneurship.
Only seems good for PhDs to argue about what they think is important in a vacuum
