☠️☠️ SaaS is DEAD! I just saved a new startup $12,000 on a OneSignal subscription with a few hours of vibe coding with Codex OneSignal's pricing is INSANE: Starter plan = $19/month (pretty useless) Next plan up = $12k, paid all up front 😱 Here's how it went👇

I natively integrated our various analytics/SaaS tools (RevenueCat, Mixpanel, Adjust, etc.) to make complex targeting decisions. And added functionality that OneSignal doesn't even offer in their own UI, like split testing, robust reporting, and more dynamic selection.

Obviously not all SaaS is so predatory with their pricing, or so UI heavy in their value prop, but this really opened my eyes to how valuable custom, easily built solutions tailored to the business's very specific use case/needs/tech-stack are. What an interesting time

We’ll also see beauty never before imagined. There’s no doubt AI will soon be a better producer of content than humans alone.
the enslopification of the internet is coming everything you read, watch or interact with, will just be ai slop

What's everyone doing during the "vibe' part of "vibe coding"? lol Are we running more agents or checking X? lol

I gave OpenAI's Operator my shopping list... and it managed to only add 3 of the 15 items I gave it, including 30lbs of ground beef (instead of the 6lbs I asked for) 😂 before trying to check out. Still have some room for improvement

Praying o3-mini is actually great at non-STEM tasks, because Deepseek is slow af, not actually as cheap as was promised, and full of unreliable providers. Agree Deepseek is a breakthrough, but it's not a practical solution for real applications (at least right now) imo
OpenAI o3-mini is now available in the API for developers on tiers 3–5. It comes with a raft of developer features: ⚙️ Function calling 📝 Developer messages 🗂️ Structured Outputs 🧠 Reasoning effort 🌊 Streaming 📦 Batch API support 🤖 Assistants API support

👵👴Friendly PSA: If you have loved ones that are getting old/may be close to passing...make sure you have sufficiently high quality images & audio. Digital recreation will be huge and deeply meaningful soon imo. I wish I had better images/audio of a few people unfortunately 😞

Hot take I've had for awhile...in the future we'll look back and consider GPT3 or 3.5 as the beginning of the AGI continuum. AGI is an ambiguous term with many definitions, and in innumerous ways ChatGPT/modern LLMs are far better ('smarter') than me.

Sentience is something else entirely in my mind. I think the people that typically question "agi or not?" don't interact with lower IQ people very much...

What’s the speculation on @OpenAI DevDay? -GPT4o voice (advanced voice mode) API? - Faster/cheaper Dalle3 (maybe upgraded version but not “new”)? - Advanced voice fine tuning? - 4o video??? - CustomGPTs? - Assistants + advanced voice?

Largest single tax on education is @YouTube’s recent placement of ads before every video. (And will disproportionately impact lower income folks) YT is the greatest education platform in history. There has to be better monetization opportunities than ads on educational vids

I understand the ads are not a deal breaker, but as someone whose life is a direct result of countless hours being guided by YT tutorials with $0 in the bank, I feel for those with yet another hurdle on the difficult road to success.

Let’s get it!
When you learn that you can learn anything, you are willing to take on anything. And when you learn that you can win with execution speed alone, you are willing to take on anyone.

Hard to have an optimistic outlook on the world of disinformation and truth. Conflate current circumstances with the lack of compelling solutions to deepfakes (and more.), and the future of truth seems bleak.
