Libraries are so important. Where else can I do research in the town archives to discover the terrifying history and origins of the paranormal entity that's been haunting my family in our new house?

we're still waiting on one more poll in north vancouver-seymour but it appears that the oneBC candidate didn't even vote for himself

Brazil’s results tonight are a big endorsement for the idea that every country should have a second “are you you sure about that” election a couple weeks after the first one for the important stuff

why haven’t I seen more people talking about the scene where Nathan gets into his car and blasts Shine by Collective Soul so Liz and Billy could fuck

hate it when my side hustle (employment) gets in the way of my main hustle (watching movies)
I somehow left a cord on the touchscreen and now I'm charging the party one million and one hundred twenty thousand dollars after tax

Let’s go, Lula. Believe.
Lula was only 33 when he led the strike alongside the metalworkers’ union that challenged Brazil’s military dictatorship. He secured wage increases and was imprisoned.
His rival, the far-right Flávio Bolsonaro, on the other hand, has had only one occupation since the age of 21: spending his wealthy family’s money and engaging in far-right thuggery.

If you’re having a bad day, just think about how Jair Bolsonaro is going to die in prison 🫶🏽

There are a lot of reasons to be upset and angry about the provincial election. I highly encourage you all to turn that energy into action instead of despondency. Educate, agitate, and organize.
It's funny that every rental listing says "No smoking" because that's just a given. I've never, ever seen a rental that says "Yes, you can smoke inside here!"
Reasonable restriction, cigarette smoke smells and stains, often permanently. (Pot much less so, but still fair.)

The @Conservative_BC actually received 50,000 fewer votes than in 2024 (but won 20 more seats) because the @bcndp vote dropped by 275.000 (29%) while the @BCGreens got 23,000 more votes than last time (+13%) - still some ballots to be counted.
I'm never talking about politics ever again (maybe next election). I wash my hands of it. I know nothing, think nothing of gov matters. Gonna become one of those guys really into craft beer or something.

Finally, an election result goes the way of the 50 year old owners of multiple rental properties who have finally been given a fighting chance during this affordability crisis by saving a full $200 on their next year's income taxes. Take that, David Eby! The people have spoken!
48% 😭
It was 58% in 2024. More than half of voters didn't show up and almost 1 in 5 from 2024 didn't this time.
Everything else aside did you know MLAs in BC only make $122,000 a year? That seems so low! We love having low salaries here!
Do you think the new gov will give themselves a raise

it doesn't matter if anybody sees this and changes their mind; for every politically engaged person consciously weighing whether to punish a disappointing liberal party, there are already 10 disengaged-except-elections people who did it 35 minutes ago

Really hope to see in the next few weeks politicians, provincial and federal, re-elected and defeated tonight, say "We understand the dangers a socially conservative gov holds and how worried many people are, and we will fight for you."
People deserve solidarity.
