Soldier Field last night. Still a bit surreal I was there for all of it. This tour had been running the same 36 songs since June. New Orleans, Almaty, Portugal, all basically the same show. Last night was 48. He opened with Homecoming twice. Intro as he came out, then the whole thing once he was on stage. No Church in the Wild and Off the Grid early, both first time on this run. Off the Grid hitting in the same building where he burned the house down in 2021. Middle of the set is where it turned. I Wonder. Champion, first time since 2009. Heard 'Em Say. None of that has been on this tour. Then the guests started. Big Sean out for Clique and IDFWU. 2 Chainz for Birthday Song. Both of them stayed on for Mercy, which he's played every night of this tour with the verses on tape. First time all run anybody actually did them live. Future came out for KEEP IT BURNIN and Fuck Up Some Commas. Then Twista. Overnight Celebrity, first time since 2006. Slow Jamz, first time since 2007. The guy he was making beats for before anybody was checking for him as a rapper. On that stage, in that city, standing in that crowd watching it happen. This hit so hard for me since I have been a Twista fan long before Ye was on the scene. The hits run after that got compressed. Ten songs shortened so all of the above could fit. Closed Runaway with the MAMA'S FAVORITE ending. He came home and acted like it. Glad I didn't miss it.
