Jake Wharton announced yesterday that all the Lysine projects (OkHttp, Okio, Retrofit, SQLDelight…) don’t allow contributors to use LLMs to generate code or write PR descriptions/comments anymore. Can’t blame him. It’s really tiring and risky to keep up with changes submitted by people who don’t fully understand them, especially in an OSS library. It also feels disrespectful to the maintainers, if you ask me. Is it the best decision for OSS? I’m curious to hear what you think.

👁️ LFM2.5-VL-3B is here! it comes with new/improved vision-capabilities: • screen understanding • better OCR • better grounding • tool use check it out on hugging face: huggingface.co/LiquidAI/LFM2…
Today, we release LFM2.5-VL-3B, a lightweight vision-language model that reads screens, documents, and the physical world. It handles digital screens across mobile, web, and desktop, grounds objects to coordinates, reads text and charts, and calls tools from either text or image input. Built on LFM2.5-2.6B base, with a SigLIP2 400M NaFlex vision encoder > Pre-trained on ~34T tokens > Vocab size: 128K Comparable or better scores compared to models up to 2.6x its size: > ScreenSpot-v2 80.7, ahead of Gemma-4-E4B at 51.2 > RealWorldQA 73.1, ahead of InternVL-3.5-4B at 67.7 > TextVQA 84.3, ahead of Qwen3.5-4B at 81.2 > RefCOCO-avg 87.9, up from 57.1 on LFM2-VL-3B > ToolSandbox 59.5, up from 26.4 on LFM2-VL-3B 🧵

I open-sourced the Kage landing page and the three.js skills behind it. The whole thing is under 1mb of three.js and code, 3mb with the hq png images. For a site where every section scrolls through a 3D world, that's surprisingly good. Live site: mengto.github.io/kage/ Repo: github.com/MengTo/kage Skills: github.com/MengTo/skills - build-threejs-scroll-worlds - falling-leaves - pointer-trail-emitter Btw this took a lot of tokens and prompts. A follow helps if you want more of these.
I made a three.js landing page with 3D scrolling for every section of the site. Since AI got so good with 3D, you can replace videos with 3D instead. Apart from images, the whole site is 922 KB on disk, 290 KB gzipped. That's insane when a scrolling video site runs 20-100mb at 1080p depending on length. As usual I had to prompt for improved textures, lighting and alpha masking. I used Claude Code (desktop) with Opus 5, Higgsfield for images, and canvasui.dev for the cloth effect on them. Inspiration was Daniel Snow's awesome landing page: instagram.com/p/DbgU4P6lmuC/… Let me know if I should open-source. Don't wanna share too many without people asking.

Introducing Magnitude: your actually local agent 100% private and offline. No token costs, no API keys. Open source. Today's agents are local. The model isn't. Every prompt, every file, every secret gets sent straight to Anthropic and OpenAI. Magnitude is built around local models and runs the whole stack itself. The inference engine is part of the agent, so the models run inside it, right on your computer. It lives in your terminal, and setup is one command. Magnitude profiles your hardware and shows you which models fit, with the trade-offs between quality, speed, and memory. Pick one and start working. No painful config or server to babysit. Out of the box, it can use your shell, edit files, and run scripts. Add skills and it can work with Excel, PowerPoint, PDFs or Chrome. Use it for everyday work: - Analyze sensitive data - Manage private notes - Review code and logs - Search and organize files - Build docs or slides npm i -g @magnitudedev/cli GitHub: github.com/magnitudedev/magn…
