current (re)read: Fool's Assassin by Robin Hobb
Fitz and the Fool trilogy 1/3
It's finally time lads let's gooo
Insane people remembering the Fool's hands well enough to carve/recognise them obviously as his without even needing to confirm it verbally
And then the sharpest envy he had ever felt oh I'm sure, not like there's anything else that could have provoked strong envy in him before

Here's some old Gideon and Harrow art since I got to finish a little early tonight. – at Sheffield, England
"my stepmother died and the boys moved out which took us a year to get used to" followed by a paragraph of them getting used to their life and ending in Fitz being horny about Molly JUSTICE FOR PATIENCE she deserved more 😔

Congratulations to FitzChivalry Farseer. Just like Althea, it seems RoTE fans have dominated even Stormlight and crowned them both Fantasy Character Champions!

The Female Grand Final: Althea vs. Navani -> you know what to do. RoTE vs. Stormlight, could it have been anything else? (voting rules in image)

Rated this one 5/5 on my first read, it's a generous 4 on the second I would say, but still my favorite of the rwc series. I liked it alright but thought the continuity to some of the rest of the series wasn't all there. The ending does feel satisfying despite being a bit short.
I feel like Sedric is barely a character in this book. He is shown to have changed from his experiences but mostly through outside eyes and in a way that is kinda unrecognisable to me. I do like him telling Heft off, but all the "Sedric is good now" feel kinda gratuitous
That entire scene of Thymara and Rascal going down the well to get the silver is really good and has awesome tension and drama, both because you're mad Thymara is being forced to do this and because of the suspense and how genuinely scary it is. One of my favorites
