This week nomination forms will be landing at stations across the southern region so that you as members can nominate the next Executive Council member for region 12
On too many occasions votes & nominations are cast when little is known about who is standing
Enough is enough.
The chair of Buckinghamshire Fire Authority has backed removing oversight and closing fire stations—a direct threat to public safety.
We must demand accountability. Call for their resignation now. #FireSafety #Buckinghamshire #Accountability
It's about turning values into victories and ensuring that every
Firefighter knows they have someone in their corner.
That is what being a trade unionist means to me. That is what I will always fight for.
That is why I am standing for you as the next Executive Council Member for the Southern Region

Cuts to emergency services will cost lives.
New cuts could mean 2,300 firefighter jobs slashed. This year has already seen record breaking wildfire incidents, with resources overstretched.
The government must urgently reverse this decision.

Firefighters rallied in Eastleigh calling on @HantsIOW_fire leaders and the government to stop proposed cuts.
@fbunational say crew levels are already at a critical situation even before reducing those responding to a fire.
1/4 The next meeting in August is set to be the decision making meeting for proposed cuts
It is of great concern that the Fire Authority has not been able to debate the cuts properly and may lack the input required to make such a critical decision in a properly informed manner

3/4 For clarity, Firefighters attended @HantsIOW_fire HQ on the day of the meeting to raise concerns directly with Fire Authority members
Despite the meeting not going ahead the Fire Authority members that did attend, spoke with 🧑🚒 & understood the perilous state of the service
4/4 & how the proposal to strip away a further 30 Firefighters would bring an already struggling service closer to critical failure
