Just read #BuryYourDead by Ana Paula Maia. Unlike anything else I've read, yet it also reads like a classic that sits in the realms of McCarthy and Faulkner. Follow Edgar Wilson as he picks up dead animals off the roads. He is completely numbed to the accumulation of bodies piling up around him. He can't escape death, yet is also at peace with it. Equally horrifying as it is lyrical and beautiful. Maia takes the vastness of the world and makes it claustrophobic: overwhelming yet comforting. Maia has done it again. A masterpiece.

I have just read #Cathedrals by Claudia Piñeiro. An absolutely riveting, brilliantly written and fiercely intelligent novel that uses philosophy, sociology, and criminology to get to the core of how a murder changes the lives of everyone in the vicinity. An examination of love, loss and belonging at its core. Equally thrilling as it is utterly devastating. This is one not to miss!
