A public outcry stopped NYPL from removing seven stories of self supporting bookstacks. But here they installed an elaborate grid of concrete beams so they could remove just one story of gold painted steel shelving that once supported the mezzanine and shelves above. Why?
Parks are for all New Yorkers. They should not be venues that privatize scarce open space. Keep parks, parks - all year-round. @NYCParks @CNU_NYC
