Good point & I agree, the blame rests mostly on Moyes because a) I can’t remember us ever looking for the ball in behind to Johnson, suggesting we didn’t set up to do so, and b) if we weren’t set up for vertical runners, he should have pick a playmaking winger in Dibling instead

Judging Brennan Johnson by total touches is the wrong way to assess him. Comparing with playmaking wingers like George, Dibling and Grealish ignores the difference in their roles.
Johnson is a vertical runner who thrives attacking space in behind. Moyes’ tactics clearly aren’t getting the best out of him. You have to build a system that maximises the player’s strengths.
Moyes must be buzzing with how that summer how it ended lol, this being how some see it, that further PR spin when he leaves to make it what everyone on the outside believes is going to be unbearable.
