Neurologic injury in children on #ECMO: in patients who received CT & MRI within 15 days, CT had 100% PPV for significant injury. MRI improved identification of smaller ischemic lesions and micro-hemorrhages compared to CT.

👶 Our #PedsCoVID admissions now rival our adult colleagues. Hitting records, w/30% in critical care. Kids rely on adults they trust. And we are letting them down. This is Infuriating. #StepUpGrownUps #Breathe

It’s #Simulation boot camp time with the new @UTSWPedsCCM fellows! 4 fellows, 2 days, 16 hours of sim at @SimUtsw. We create a safe learning space, but anything can happen in sim with @AMcMichaelMD and me. Not all sim is mock codes. #medsim #MedEd #PedsICU

This is unacceptable. Nothing to be proud of in Texas as #1 in uninsured children, well above all other states. #TXLedge should start listening to child health experts recommending policy changes to address this. #VOTE #votekids #putkids1st
Why did so many children lose health insurance at a time they should have been gaining? New story by @sangrkatz @abbygoodnough takes a closer look at policies that are negatively impacting childrens' health and well-being. nytimes.com/2020/10/09/upsho…

Hey incoming interns, don’t pay any attention to July 1st doomsday tweets. I was an ophthalmology intern who started on an ICU rotation and I didn’t kill or maim anybody. In fact, at times I made people BETTER. It was wild. You’ll do great.

As a doctor Ive seen crazy things.
Saw cardiac arrest due to Imodium toxicity.
Coded an aortic dissection patient in an elevator while elevator was stuck.
Saw a gunshot victim dropped out of a rolling car at the hospital entrance.
But Ive never once seen a mask cause hypoxia.
Feeling all the nostalgia today as we welcome our new interns! I just have to give a shoutout to my first senior @AnnYoungMD. She’s still one of the best doctors I’ve ever worked with. Thank you for your patience and kindness. #isthistoomuchtylenol
