Update: Now there are 4! 👩🏾‍🎓 I became the 3rd this past May when I completed my PhD in Aerospace Computational Engineering. Feeling blessed and honored to call myself Dr. Chelsea N. Onyeador ✨
Fun Black History Month fact!! My department, MIT AeroAstro, has never graduated a Black woman with a PhD 🤪

It's crazy how Bible Belt coded Dallas is. Like why do I need to know that you are specifically a God Fearing™️ personal trainer? Lmao

Thinking about the nurse who looked surprised when she saw me lying next to my dad in his hospital bed after his stroke and said "wow y'all must be really close 🤨". Like 1) there is nowhere else to sit 2)he is my DAD 3) he HAD A STROKE. Where else would I be??
my friend thinks it's weird that me and my dad watched a movie and took a nap in his big comfy bed 💔 sorry i hang out with my dad. it's normal for parents to enjoy spending time w their kids and vice versa 😭

The “DEI” outrage be so funny to me because if you walk in any corporate workplace and go résumé for résumé or merit for merit with any Black woman working there and you’re probably going to lose.

Y’all are really actively trying to permanently run off the Black woman base of the party 🤷🏾‍♀️

My entire scientific career I have been cautioning against climate doomerism. It’s dangerously unhealthy for young people and leads into apathy. Humanity won on ozone depletion. Much of the world has been successful on acid rain and air pollution. Climate is winnable.
not to be barbie but how do you guys cope with the growing sense of dread that the world is legitimately going to end in our lifetimes and everything you know and love will collapse into chaos

It's giving "separate but equal" 🙄
I will never disrespect them. I just hate that we spent so much time fighting to be in spaces where we weren't wanted.

Olivia Rodrigo shared that she views a man’s desire to go to space as a “red flag.” “I always ask guys on the first date if they’d like to go to space. If they say yes, I lose interest. To me, people who want to go to space are full of themselves, and I find it a bit weird.”

Maybe I've lost the plot but I genuinely want to understand the benefit of not voting beyond just virtue signaling? What is the strategy in that? Who does it help? The genocide is happening now. How does abstaining get us any closer to Palestinian liberation?

It seems disingenuous and even privileged to say both options are equally bad. While neither party represents progress, one upholds the (malignant) status quo and the other is hellbent on swiftly bulldozing what remains of our basic rights, freedoms, agency, and support systems.

I hate the "lesser of two evils" and "harm reduction" arguments bc they feel defeatist. We have to believe in the possibility of a revolution for the better. But for now, shouldn't we minimize needless additional suffering while we build our coalition and work to get there?
