📖 THE STORY OF LIFE TEN MINUTE That night, just before we were supposed to meet, he made a request. Him: “I remember seeing you on your first day at the gym. You were wearing a black shirt. Can you wear that same shirt when we meet?” I was a little surprised. Me: “So, you noticed me on my very first day?” Him: “No. You just happened to come in front of my eyes. That's why I still remember.” I knew he was trying to hide the fact that he had noticed me. Anyway, I put on the black shirt, paired it with blue jeans and slippers, and slowly made my way downstairs. As soon as I opened the gate, I saw him standing there. He was wearing a black T-shirt and black trousers, with a cigarette in his hand. When he saw me, he threw it away. Me: “You smoke?” Him: “Sometimes.” We started walking. After a while, he reached for my hand and held it. His hand was warm. I felt something strange, something I couldn't quite understand. After walking for a while, we came across a small tea stall. An elderly man was sitting there, making tea. Him: “Would you like some tea?” Me: “No, I don't drink tea this late.” Him: “Okay.” We continued walking until we stopped beneath a tree. The rain wasn't heavy, just a gentle drizzle, but the breeze felt unusually cold. Him: “Come on. Let me walk you home.” He walked me back, but we barely spoke along the way. Before leaving, he asked, Him: “Can you meet me tomorrow morning at 10?” Me: “Okay.” As we were saying goodbye, he gently held my hand and pulled me closer. Then he placed a soft kiss on my cheek. It was such a tender moment. I went home, but I couldn't sleep for the rest of the night. The next morning, I arrived at the place he had mentioned before 10 AM. But he never came. Ten o'clock passed. Then eleven. Then twelve. He still didn't show up. I was overwhelmed with anger and sadness. Eventually, tears began to fall, and I couldn't hold them back anymore. I knew where he would be. I went straight to the gym. He was there, working out as usual. I walked up to him and sat in front of him. Him: “Come on. Let me drop you home.” Me: “I didn't come here to go home.” Him: “Come.” He took my hand, and we walked out of the gym together. We were walking through a crowded street, surrounded by so many people. Yet, somehow, none of them seemed to matter. At that moment, the only person who had my attention was the one walking beside me. After a while, he spoke. Him: “There was something I wanted to tell you. That's why I called you here. But perhaps I won't be able to tell you today.” Me: “Why?” Him: “She died by suicide.” I looked at him, completely shocked. Me: “Who?” Him: “My ex.” I felt as if the sky had fallen over my head. Me: “When?” Him: “A long time ago. Her family forced her into marriage. She died shortly after the wedding.” I couldn't believe what I was hearing. All that time, I had misunderstood her. I had never tried to find out what had really happened in her life. And now, I was learning the truth. Tears were rolling down his cheeks. In that moment, I felt I had lost even the right to wipe away his tears. I didn't have the strength to hold on to him anymore. So, I let go of his hand. That was the last time we ever met. Some things are simply too difficult to put into words. That night, he had held me close against his chest for a long time. That embrace became my last memory of him. We never met again. I never looked for him, and he never looked for me. I even changed my name. Somewhere deep inside, I carried a sense of guilt. I wondered if he had stopped looking for his ex because of me. Perhaps he had blamed me for it. Perhaps staying away from me was his way of punishing me. I will never know. But there is one thing I still know. On rainy nights, I remember him. And somewhere in my heart, I believe he will never forget me either. Some people are only a ten-minute chapter in our lives. But sometimes, those ten minutes stay with us forever. TEN MINUTES.
