Important not to get ahead of ourselves, but I reckon Reece James might become the first defender to win the Ballon D’or since Cannavaro.

Mike Penders looks genuinely shellshocked, can’t imagine how stressful this game must be a for a ‘keeper

Barco needs toughen up. So weak right now.

Nice being briefed that there was a deadline before which City had to bid, otherwise no sale. Then no sale unless we can strengthen the squad. Then just selling and not bringing anyone in. Weak and untrustworthy as ever @ChelseaFC.

FWIW I think selling is the right decision, but I could do without the clownery.

Caicedo is injured. Lavia will get injured. Reece James isn’t unlikely to get injured. Essugo is going on loan. Henderson is injured and halfway to a wheelchair permanently. Big risk.

Enzo almost certainly off. Will try to force his way out of City for Madrid in 2-3 years, I guarantee it.

Unpopular opinion, but while Sanchez blundered the first goal, I don’t see that as his usual weakness? Near post goals? I wouldn’t expect him to do that on the regular. 2nd goal was parried into the worst possible place, you’d expect better, from Colwill too.

His handling of corners and crosses was very good as well. I get that he’s error-prone and I don’t understand our GK recruitment strategy (or any other), but it’s also just a good story when he does something suboptimal.

Garnacho leaving and now this? What a day

If the Morgan Rogers deal was contingent on Villa taking Garnacho, the price is alright with me.

£117m for Morgan Rogers is certainly a choice

Maresca said it himself - he doesn’t know any other way. This is it. This is what he has to offer.

Replying to @SebC__
Maresca embodies the club to a tee. Sporting wise he’s doing okay-ish, albeit with some major drawbacks. But on a personal level, he’s like watching paint dry. Villas-Boas, Potter, Scolari, even Benitez, I felt something.

I was never keen on Maresca. He’s an okay manager, with some strengths and some serious weaknesses. Tremendously overhyped by some. Zero charisma. We won’t particularly miss him, except it’ll get worse before it (hopefully) gets better.

The manager you adored saw fit to fuck off to a rival when it suited him and manufactured events to allow it to happen, let's see if you abuse him in the same way you abused home-grown academy products who wanted to stay a lot more by comparison.

The sporting directors at @ChelseaFC are incompetent and arrogant, and Enzo Maresca is an overrated snake. Both things can be true.
