A student suggested a great twist on this classic can-crushing demo.
Today, we used three buckets:
one with room temp water,
one with ice water,
one with boiling hot water.
The results are in, and awesome.
1: pop can inverted in room temp water
2: pop can inverted in ice water
3: pop can inverted in hot water

When I taught my #apchemistry students about strong acids vs. weak acids, I used examples of 0.036 𝘔 HNO₃ (pH = 1.44) and 0.036 𝘔 HNO₂ (pH = 2.44).
They compared the % ionization (100% vs. 10%) and the particle diagrams.
