Excited to share, development of our Regional Fire Training Centre represents a major leap forward for our firefighting capabilities. Our partnership with the @TheCityofTrail was crucial for securing the land & grant funding necessary for this facility @RDKBdotcom @trailfire941

Today’s weather adds to the already extreme fire risk across the province. Today our crews are focused on being prepared to action fires in these extreme conditions.
A really helpful and informative short video about the upcoming change in weather, and what it means in terms of fire risk. Worth the watch. Upcoming weather event August 16, 2023 youtu.be/DHgrCZDgAE8 via @YouTube

We appreciated and are thankful for the support from @BCGovFireInfo today, well done!

When it comes to emergency vehicle right-of-way always listen for sirens & watch for flashing lights. All traffic in both directions must stop & pull to the right using your turn signal ensuring you’re not blocking intersections. Know the rules. ow.ly/8cEn50PjSXx #Cranbrook
Deepest condolences to Firefighter Devyn Gale’s family, friends and to members of the BC Wildfire Service.
Devyn will be remembered for her commitment to community, being considerate, hardworking and her smile.
With heavy hearts we lowered our flags at the #RDKB headquarters today in honour of BC Wildfire Fighter Devyn Gale, 19, who died while responding to a blaze near Revelstoke. A tragic reminder of how dangerous the job, and wildfire season, can be.

The BC River Forecast Centre issued a High Stream Flow Advisory for the #RDKB saying, "The upcoming heavy rainfall is expected to cause flashy rises in creeks and rivers in the region." Models show rivers to rise quickly to a 1-2 year return. The RDKB EM Program is monitoring.
