Through Project High Guard, our investigators successfully worked up the chain, identifying not only those responsible for carrying out these robberies, but also the individuals alleged to have directed and benefited from them. Dismantling organized criminal networks requires partnerships and precision, and Project High Guard demonstrates our unwavering commitment to protecting the public and holding offenders accountable.

Thank you to our partners, Peel Police Foundation and Canadian country music icon @PaulBrandt for their work in this space. Human trafficking demands more than a policing response. It requires coordinated action, strong partnerships and an unwavering commitment to survivors. By launching this strategy, @PeelPolice is bringing together the people, expertise and resources needed to prevent exploitation, support recovery and drive meaningful change in our community.

Today, on World Mental Health Day, we recognize the importance of mental well-being and our shared responsibility to support one another. This commitment is reflected in the work of Community Safety and Well-Being Services and the Peel Police Foundation's investment in counselling and early intervention services for transitional-age youth. By connecting young people with timely support, we can help build resilience, reduce risk factors and prevent crises before they occur.

The strength of Peel has always been its people. That spirit was on full display at this year's Chief's Gala, where the community came together to help raise money for the Peel Police Foundation and its programs that empower youth and create opportunities for those who need them most. Thank you to everyone who helped make this year's event a success. @CatherineBizTV

Retail crime is not a victimless crime. It affects businesses, frontline employees, and the communities we serve. I was pleased to join policing and industry partners at the Retail Organized Crime Conference to discuss how we can strengthen our response to this growing challenge. In Peel, our dedicated retail theft unit has helped recover over $1 million in stolen property, demonstrating the power of collaboration in keeping our communities safe. Policing cannot solve retail crime alone. Together, we can continue to make a difference.

Today, I was honoured to join our policing and community partners to remember Detective Constable Jeff Northrup.   Jeff’s commitment to Special Olympics and individuals with intellectual disabilities is an example of his service and compassion to others. His legacy reminds us that the impact we make is measured not only by what we do in uniform, but by how we uplift and support others. – at Brampton, Ontario

Homeowners have a right to expect honesty and professionalism from the contractors they hire. This investigation highlights the serious consequences that can arise when individuals allegedly misrepresent their qualifications and services. Fraud schemes of this nature undermine public trust, and @PeelPolice will continue working with our partners to hold those responsible accountable.

Every stolen vehicle represents a person, family, or business whose sense of security has been impacted. While we have seen encouraging declines in vehicle thefts across Peel, our work is far from done. Today's $300,000 investment through Ontario's Preventing Auto Thefts Grant Program will strengthen our ability to prevent thefts, support victims, and disrupt the organized criminal networks that threaten community safety. Progress is only possible through strong partnerships, and together we will continue building safer communities across Peel.

In policing, we spend a lot of time looking ahead. Today, in Ottawa, we take time to reflect. The Canadian Police and Peace Officers' Memorial Service honours the officers whose service ended too soon, and whose absence continues to be felt by families, friends, colleagues, and communities across the country. We remember them not only for the sacrifice they made, but for how they lived, served, and made a difference.

As officers from across the country ride and run toward Ottawa as part of the Canadian Police Memorial Ride to Remember, they carry with them the memory of colleagues who lost their lives in service to others. The ride and run brings police services and communities together in advance of the national memorial service, reflecting the deep respect our profession holds for those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Their service, courage, and commitment continue to leave a lasting mark on policing in Canada.

From the air to the ground, Air3 is enhancing public safety across Peel Region. As the newest addition to our fleet, Air3 provides realtime aerial support that improves situational awareness, strengthens frontline operations, and enhances officer and public safety. Recently, Air3 helped track a high-risk suspect vehicle, directing officers throughout the pursuit and supporting the successful arrest of two suspects following a dangerous attempt to evade police. It's another tool helping us respond more effectively, support our frontline officers, and keep our communities safe.
