Great to be at launch of @ChildLawProject Falling Through the Cracks report yesterday evening, vital reading. Child protection is the responsibility of everyone, any new government must act like that. Multi-departmental/agency strategy needed to address lack of places in care.

As showcased yesterday by @ChildLawProject, this issue continues to grow as placements in foster become fewer and farther between. More & younger children are entering residential care where education becomes a harder task to accomplish due to instability & lack of resources
"For the first time ever, [@ChildLawProject has] seen cases of young children for whom no foster carer is available; very young children, as young as four years, being placed in residential care; and a ‘waiting list’ for admission to special care.

The @ChildLawProject shines a light into the darkest corners of the care and legal system ensuring that children most in need of state support do not remain invisible.
To discontinue funding now would send entirely the wrong message when it's clearly more necessary than ever

Very worrying to hear that there is no more funding for the work of @ChildLawProject to attend the courts & produce these reports. They reflect the good, the bad and the ugly of what goes on during these hearings. Transparency of the court process is vital for all.
Many thanks to @morningireland for the opportunity to discuss latest (& last) volume of @ChildLawProject reports
