We warmly welcome Hon. Christophe Bazivamo, Secretary General of the RPF! On the occasion of 55th anniversary of China-Rwanda diplomatic relations, this visit is not only deepening mutual learning between our two parties, but also advancing practical cooperation.
Secretary General Hon. Christophe Bazivamo is in the People’s Republic of China on a working visit during which he met with Hon. Liu Haixing, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC).
At the bilateral talks, the two senior officials exchanged views on areas of mutual interest to the CPC and RPF and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation and advancing relations between RPF-Inkotanyi and CPC to greater heights.
Mayor Judith expressed her gratitude to the Chinese Embassy for its long-standing support for Rwanda’s education sector, noting that as exchanges between Rwanda and China continue to grow, learning Chinese has become increasingly important. She encouraged students to study diligently, develop their skills and contribute to development of the motherland and friendship between Rwanda and China.
During the event, Amb. Gao donated educational equipment, including desks, projectors and computers. He joined teachers and students in watching the film the Wandering Earth II, and received an interview by Rwanda Broadcasting Agency (RBA).
The event was supported by Confucius Institute at UR, StarTimes Rwanda and Landy Industries Ltd.
On October 22, Ambassador Gao Wenqi visited Inyange Girls School of Sciences in Rulindo District, Northern Province. MUKANYIRIGIRA Judith and MUTAGANDA Theophile, Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Rulindo District respectively, Ann Macharia, principal of Inyange Girls School of Sciences, along with over 600 teachers and students, attended the event.
Amb. Gao noted that the visit is to further traditional friendship between the two sides. It’s especially meaningful in the context of 55th anniversary of relations between China and Rwanda, and the China–Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges. Chinese is more than just a language; it is a bridge that connects hearts and brings people closer. He encouraged students to persevere in their studies, continue to make progress, draw inspiration from both Chinese and Rwandan civilizations, and grow into pillars of their country and good-will ambassadors between Rwanda and China.

2) In his remarks, Amb. Gao noted that 2026 marks the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Africa, and the 55th anniversary between China and Rwanda. China is ready to work with the African side to solidly implement the outcomes of the FOCAC Beijing Summit and bring more benefits to the Chinese and African peoples. Amb. Gao briefed on four principles on the constructive participation of relevant parties in the resolution of African hotspot issues and four-point proposition on advancing China-Africa mining cooperation proposed by President Xi Jinping.
1）On October 21, in collaboration with Mr. Gerald Mbanda, founder of Africa China Review, the Embassy held a seminar on 70 years of China-Africa cooperation. The event was attended by Ambassador Gao Wenqi, Hon. Amb. Fidelis Mironko, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, as well as experts and scholars from Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, Liberia, Beijing Foreign Studies University of China, Renmin University of China, and Communication University of China.
President Xi Jinping put forward four principles for the constructive participation of relevant parties in addressing African hotspot issues.
