Rice that grows taller than you? In Changsha, Hunan, China, it's real — and so is the promise of a bigger harvest. This autumn, "giant rice" standing up to 2.2 meters tall is swaying in the wind, bringing Yuan Longping's dream of "cooling off beneath tall rice plants" one step closer to reality. Taller stalks mean more than grain: they shade the water below too, opening the door to rice-fish farming that grows more food with a lighter footprint. #Amazing #rice #Changsha #Hunan #harvest

Chinese products are of good quality and reasonably priced!
For years, Western media have often framed China through headlines with keywords like "rival" or "risk". Now the younger generation is learning about China through unboxing videos, which went viral with the "China Haul" trend. If you had a choice, what would you buy? #ShoppingInChina @zhaomanfeng @Opinion_Xpress

Forty Years of Ties with China: Witnessing Australia-China Friendship Australian publisher and sinologist Harold Weldon recently returned to China, continuing an extraordinary journey that began more than four decades ago. His story illuminates the long-standing connections between Australians and the Chinese people, and underscores the vital role of people-to-people exchanges in deepening mutual understanding between the two nations. Weldon first came to China in 1985 to retrace the Long March for an Australian publishing project. Over three months of preparation for a major photographic volume, he traveled along the historic route, visiting remote villages and communities along the way. To this day, he vividly recalls children on the grasslands of northwestern Sichuan chasing his car, gathering around him as he showed them how to throw an Australian boomerang. In 2026, the 90th anniversary of the victorious end of the Long March, Weldon is back in China once more. Across these forty-odd years, he has witnessed the country’s immense transformation. Yet what has stayed with him most profoundly are always the people he met on the road, and the friendships and bonds that grew from those encounters. Weldon’s journey reminds us that the links between Australia and China run deep and take many forms. Forged over the years through shared experiences, mutual curiosity and ongoing dialogue, these connections continue to accumulate and endure. "It's a pity that the #NanjingMassacre is not a part of global history." Let's see how a journalist with true conscience would feel after visiting the Nanjing Massacre Memorial Hall. The Japanese side shall do serious soul-searching on its history of aggression, make a clean break with militarism, and earn trust from its Asian neighbors and the rest of the world with concrete actions. #WWII #Japan
