🕊️ Today marks SADC Anti-Sanctions Day. 🕊️
In 2019, the 39th SADC Summit designated October 25 as “Anti-Sanctions Day”, urging a handful of Western countries and organisations to lift the illegal sanctions against Zimbabwe 🇿🇼.
For over two decades, these unjust unilateral sanctions have gravely trampled on Zimbabwe’s sovereignty, eroded its people’s right to development, and held back Southern Africa’s pursuit of shared progress.
🇨🇳 🤝 🇿🇼 China reaffirms its unwavering solidarity with Zimbabwe. We consistently support Zimbabwe's position against external interference and its pursuit of independent development.
We urge relevant countries and organisations to heed global calls for justice, lift these illegal sanctions without further delay, and take tangible steps to advance Zimbabwe's economic revitalisation and deliver improved livelihoods for its people.

🌍 China’s Quiet, Steady Contribution to Global Stability & Development 🇨🇳
Did you know? These figures vividly demonstrate China’s quiet yet steady contribution to global stability and common development 🇨🇳🤝
📌 Amid rising geopolitical tensions and tight global energy supply, China’s crude oil imports reached 320.9 million tonnes in the first eight months of the year, down 14.6 percent year-on-year. By proactively calibrating imports and market demand, China acts as a key stabiliser of global oil prices. ✨
📌 China supplies around 70 percent of the world’s wind power equipment and over 80 percent of solar PV modules. Over the past five years, exports of these green products have helped partner countries cut 4.1 billion tonnes of CO₂ emissions — equal to four months of global forest carbon absorption. 🌱
📌 China’s self-developed Fengyun meteorological satellite system shares free observation data with over 130 countries and regions. It has also provided free satellite receiving stations, meteorological analysis systems and supporting facilities to more than 20 African nations. 🛰️
📌 China feeds nearly one-fifth of the global population with just 9 percent of the world’s arable land. Chinese hybrid rice technologies have been introduced in 70 Global South countries, with an annual overseas planting area of 7–8 million hectares, feeding an additional 40 to 50 million people yearly. 🌾

President Xi Jinping called for new accomplishments on the new Long March as China marks the 90th anniversary of the victory of the Red Army’s Long March.
Addressing a commemorative gathering in Beijing, Xi noted that the path of the Long March keeps extending. “On our new journey, we are striving to attain the Second Centenary Goal of building China into a great modern socialist country in all respects and advance the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation on all fronts through a Chinese path to modernization.”
To forge ahead on this new Long March, Xi stressed, we must uphold the ideals, convictions and fundamental purpose of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and closely rely on the people to create new historical feats. He underscored unswerving efforts to advance high‑quality development and pursue common prosperity for all. We should better balance development and security, seize the historical initiative to overcome difficulties, defuse risks and meet challenges.

There is a chapter of history every Chinese child learns in school.
There is a poem that generations of Chinese people have learned by heart.
There is a song millions can sing from its very first notes.
In stories, in verses, in melodies, they all point to the same chapter of history: the Long March.

“During his meeting with President of the Council of Togo Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé, President Xi Jinping put forward four principles on the constructive participation of relevant parties in the resolution of African hotspot issues, providing practical guidance for addressing issues including the current situation in the Horn of Africa.
First, upholding Africa’s leadership. African people are the true masters of the continent and should therefore play a central role in regional affairs.
Second, safeguarding equity and justice. Parties should observe the purposes and principles of the UN Charter and respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of countries concerned.
Third, ceasing hostilities and building peace. War and unilateral sanctions are never real solutions to disputes between states. Countries should respect each other, engage in extensive consultation, seek common ground despite differences, and practice mutual understanding and accommodation.
Fourth, addressing both symptoms and root causes. Addressing immediate security concerns should go hand in hand with long-term development planning.”
—Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning at the Regular Press Conference on 19 October 2026
What does it take to shape our future? A compelling answer emerged at the 2026 World Vocational and Technical Education Development Conference in Tianjin, where ministers, educators and global industry representatives from over 100 countries highlighted the vital role of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).
The Framework of World Vocational and Technical Education Standards, also known as the Beijing Agreement, was jointly released by 45 countries, including Zimbabwe. It establishes the world’s first set of international standards for global vocational education.
When a young person masters a skill, a family’s future is transformed. When a cohort of skilled talents flourishes, an industry and even a nation prospers. China stands ready to deepen cooperation with Zimbabwe in human resources development, skills enhancement and technical education under the framework of the Beijing Agreement, to jointly build a stronger and more sustainable shared future for both countries. 🚀

What a day filled with heartwarming moments, vibrant cultural interactions, abundant joy and meaningful charitable impact! 🎉♥️
For the fourth consecutive year, the Chinese Embassy took part in the Diplomatic Spouses Association (DSA) Charity Bazaar. 👏 Our 🇨🇳 pavilion turned into a dynamic gathering place for cultural exchange: many visitors browsed traditional handicrafts, learnt about Traditional Chinese Medicine and watched live calligraphy demonstrations, while others joined the queue to sample cold noodles 🍜, savory dumplings 🥟, crispy spring rolls, egg tarts and sesame balls.
The Baduanjin (Eight‑Section Brocade) performance, led by representatives from the Chinese Embassy and the Chinese Medical Team, attracted a large crowd. A traditional Chinese mind‑body exercise featuring gentle movements, regulated breathing and stretching, Baduanjin gave guests a first‑hand experience of China’s holistic health philosophy — some visitors even joined in to give it a try. ✨
The event embodied the true essence of people‑to‑people exchanges and cultural diversity. 🌟 Every purchase and donation transforms heartfelt generosity into tangible support for disadvantaged communities across Zimbabwe. 🎁🤝
Our sincere gratitude goes to DSA Zimbabwe, all volunteers, diplomatic spouses and friends who made this impactful event possible! 🙏

Rice that grows taller than you? In Changsha, Hunan, China, it's real — and so is the promise of a bigger harvest. This autumn, "giant rice" standing up to 2.2 meters tall is swaying in the wind, bringing Yuan Longping's dream of "cooling off beneath tall rice plants" one step closer to reality. Taller stalks mean more than grain: they shade the water below too, opening the door to rice-fish farming that grows more food with a lighter footprint.

During China’s week-long National Day holidays, over 2.1 billion domestic trips were made, averaging 306 million trips per day. That is roughly equivalent to 90% of the U.S. population being on the move every day for a whole week.
Holiday journeys were safe and smooth thanks to dense high-speed rail (50,000+ km) and expressway (199,000 km) networks, and rapid response.
