William Willett, who campaigned for daylight saving in 1907, lived in Chislehurst. His campaign paved the way for the system to be adopted in the UK in 1916.
He is remembered in Petts Wood by a memorial sundial, and a pub named in his honour.

We know many Chislehurst drivers got caught out by the temp speed limits during A20 roadworks a couple of years or so ago. We warned drivers & challenged TfL at the time.
Pls see latest development on this from @GarethBaconMP ⬇️
MAJOR DEVELOPMENT ON UNFAIR A20 FINES
After 2 years campaigning with @LauraTrottMP and @louie_french, a Crown Court has ruled the A20’s temporary speed limit was unlawful.
The Mayor must now explain how drivers can have convictions overturned, points removed and fines repaid.
