Tonga 20 Samoa 18 - an epic dead rubber. England go home, knowing the international #rugbyleague world has fully tilted to southern hemisphere and South Seas. Weβre not at the races, poor preparation or not. NZ v Tonga, Aus v Samoa semis. Mouthwatering #RLWC2026
Afraid England fully lived up to my lack of expectations in #RLWC2026 - nowhere near good enough, southern hemisphere nations steaming off into the distance. A chasm #rugbyleague

Patrick Stewart on Trump (2017): βYou might say to me, well, youβre not an American, what has it got to do with you? The fact is when America sneezes, the world catches a cold. America I think is on the edge of a very bad flu infection and itβs because of the man whoβs in the White Houseβ
Proud Yorkshireman, Son of Mirfield, Shakespearean actor par excellence, Capt Jean Luc Picard, Star Trek icon and wonderful Chancellor of @HuddersfieldUni where he championed our late, great media & journalism dept. Rest in peace Sir Patrick Stewart π

NEWS: Delighted after years of fighting for it, that the Lifetime ISA penalty for those buying a house of Β£450,000 will be reduced from 25% to 20%. In practice (as you got a 25% bonus when putting money in) this means while you won't get the bonus, you'll get back roughly what you put in plus interest. I've long suggested this and am pleased the Chancellor listened.
It means there's no risk to putting money in a LISA if you're definitely going to buy a house. As if you're priced out, and have to go above threshold, you still get your savings and the interest, you just don't get the extra.
This will be a great relief to many young people. I'm still checking when it comes in.
He has confirmed too that the First Time Buyers replacement will go ahead but that will take a few years I suspect. The LISA will remain for now, and should still be viable even once its closed to new starters. #Budget2026
Best #Budget speech for many a long year delivered by @JohnHealey_MP - confident, measured, with focus and direction. Lots of small measures adding up in these difficult economic times created by wars waged by Russia and USA.
