Despite suffering significant injuries in a devastating train crash, Dr Eleanor Prior put the lives of others first, taking lifesaving action before emergency services arrived. When her train collided with a stationary train near Bedford, Eli was thrown eight metres down the aisle. Ignoring her own injuries, the GP stayed in the front carriage to help severely injured passengers. When the emergency services arrived, she worked alongside them to triage casualties and even refused an ambulance for herself so that others could take it.
