Everybody expects teachers to have amazing lessons everyday. But when they have to cover other classes or meetings or they're sick or family sick or a hundred other ors. Its an Unrealistic expectation. But regardless of lesson prep they're still amazing teachers everyday.

Giving teachers mental health days is a catch-22 situation because they would be anxious about writing sub plans, being behind, and worrying about their students.
Teachers are never really off, even when they're off.
We need to really think about proper mental health supports.
