I say this with prejudice I am play by play for @WashWizards and work with my dear friend @JohnWaltonPxP . I know the costs and radio is inexpensive and you can make money . In terms of listeners . In short Radio meets fans where they are . Not everyone has 2 hours on a given night to sit and watch . In DC drive around the beltway or through town at night and you won't be lonely. Radio is the original social media , personal .And radio is not just a transmitter . It is digital and online . The phone is the new transistor radio . Sure you can cut radio , but I would argue what you lose is greater than any bottom line gain .
