Hosted by the Greater Goleta Santa Barbara #LionsClub and the #CityofGoleta, the reception showcased 50 posters by local students ages 11–13 for the international theme “Harmony in Humanity.”

Rainfall totals are expected to generally range from 0.5 to 1.5 inches except 1.5 to 3 inches across south facing mountains/foothills. Minor flooding and debris flows are possible especially near recent burn scars. Peak timing for most locations will fall into the late Wednesday morning through late Thursday morning timeframe. Isolated to scattered thunderstorms are possible bringing potential hazards such as cloud-to-ground lightning, heavy downpours, gusty winds, small hail, and even isolated waterspouts.

A temporary warming shelter will be available in Santa Barbara from October 21–23.
Casa Cacique, located at 816 Cacique Street in downtown Santa Barbara, will offer 25 beds starting at 8 AM each day through Friday, October 23. Beds are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Meals will be provided, and guests may remain inside the facility throughout the day.

The official warming center season begins November 15, 2026. Casa Cacique is owned by the City of Santa Barbara and operated by Mercy Housing.
