Professor Hua Zhang, Herman Hu Chair Professor of Nanomaterials from #CityUHK's Department of Chemistry and the Director of the Hong Kong Institute for Clean Energy, has secured HK$39.64 million grants under the Research Grants Council’s (#RGC) Theme-based Research Scheme (#TRS).

Professor Xun-li Wang, Chair Professor in #CityUHK’s Department of #Physics, received HK$50 million under #RGC's Areas of Excellence Scheme to establish the Hong Kong Centre for #Neutron Scattering, a world’s premier neutron scattering research platform based at CityUHK.

Professor Chun Kit Kwok, Associate Dean (Outreach and Internationalisation) of #CityUHK’s College of #Science (CSCI) and Professor from the Department of #Chemistry, was named a Fellow Member of the prestigious Royal Society of Chemistry (#RSC) in July 2026. Congratulations!

Professor Wang Xunli from #CityUHK’s Department of #Physics is awarded the 16th Guanghua Engineering Science and Technology Award — one of the most prestigious national awards in engineering — for his outstanding contributions to materials science and neutron scattering.

According to the 2026–2027 U.S. News & World Report Best Global Universities Rankings, #CityUHK is ranked the best among Hong Kong universities in seven #science subjects and is ranked among the global top 25.

Congrats to the Heep Yunn School team for winning the Gold Award and Best Presentation Award in the #CityUHK Science #Patent Challenge. Co-organised by the College of Science and the Office of the Provost and Deputy President, the Final Pitch is held. A team from Macau joined.
