sitting in front of a screen and knowing i might be playing poker against a 50 year old fart wouldve had me licking my chops 20 years ago 40+ in my book meant insta donk. no questions asked and now here i am almost 50 coming back to online poker after 6 years away completely different life now. family. businesses. responsibilities. all the shit i didnt have to think about when poker was basically my entire existence have i lost my mind midlife crisis very possible since i started posting on here ive had a lot of younger players ask me some version of the same thing is online poker still a viable path is it still beatable is there any dream left in it solvers. ai. rta. everyone getting better i honestly had no idea so i stayed away from giving anyone an answer im 48 now and somehow feel better than i ever have and im going after the same thing i always did becoming one of the best heads up players in the game sitting the high stakes tables keeping them and fighting for them when i have to against players younger than me and probably better prepared than me i have absolutely no idea if i can pull this off but thats kind of the point because if a 48 year old dinosaur who hasnt played in almost 6 years can come back and still become one of the big dogs in online poker then maybe the dream is still alive enjoy the ride or my public embarrassment

I set out to write the best poker book ever and, while that may or may not have come to fruition, I’m fairly certain that it’s the most unique one ever written. It’s been a long process writing the book which I’m now pleased to share with the world: the Khemset Holistic Poker Codex. In this three-volume codex, I go through first principles and poker theory before shifting the discussion to my views on philosophy and the nature of reality, ultimately tying them together with the goal in mind of sharing a practical and actionable holistic perspective for poker as well as life more broadly. I wanted the Holistic Poker Codex to be memorable and feel special, and so I decided to print a limited luxury hardcover collector’s edition of 500 copies, each with a gold ribbon bookmark attached. I am likely to print it as a softcover version with a lower price point in the future if it’s well received, but I won’t be printing this particular version as a hardcover again, so it will remain unique. It’s funny how writing a book teaches you more about yourself than you might realize going into it. It’s a rewarding and fulfilling process, and one which requires an immense amount of care, attention to detail, and willingness to spend time on tedious tasks alongside the overall bigger-picture creative vision needed to conceptualize and put it together in the first place. I’m very glad I decided to undertake this project and quite pleased to have finished it as well! The book is set to be delivered to me in around six weeks’ time. I’ve just sent off the manuscript to the printing company and I decided to begin accepting pre-orders now. If you’re interested, check out the link below for more information.

I don’t think he’s implying it’s no big deal but I think his point about life being a game of inches is spot on. Many cases where everyone acts holier than thou but forgets how they could have been drunk behind that wheel (an example many are guilty of but quick to judge others).

the poker stabbing story is horrific enough. somehow it's become a cause for celebration for parts of the poker community as someone who's interacted with lynne quite a bit (only online) since starting this account, here's my perspective lynne has always been very kind to me. she's been a big fan of the account and supported it from early on, which i'll always appreciate anyways fwiw, from everything that's come out, the allegations look pretty damning to me. but she's denied them and everyone deserves their day in court still, the insane amount of hate, gloating and people taking victory laps over this whole thing is beyond nasty to me my 74 year old parents have been staying with us for a month now (yay fml). they're happy and sweet, but there's a memory from my early teens that i still can't forget they were going through a rough patch. lots of tension at home. one day i remember my mom chasing my dad towards the bedroom with a kitchen knife. she took a stab at the door she had completely lost it in that moment. thankfully my brother and i were home, things deescalated and that was that but i still wonder sometimes. what if things had gone just slightly differently that day? what would have become of their lives? of all our lives? life is a game of inches, right? going back to lynne, i feel sorry for her too. someone who clearly had a lot to offer, now facing a situation that may be almost impossible to come back from i just wish people would stop enjoying this so much

if you're not following this guy, you should be ex poker pro too
Once you sustain $5-10m net worth, you've made it. Almost. Rich enough to be comfortable, poor enough for one bad bet to send you back. Here's what actually changes at this tier, and how to get to $25m 👇 -Self-funding, barely. A 3% draw on $7.5m is $225k/yr pre-tax, ~$150k after. You can quit but probably shouldn't. Earned income is still the cheapest capital you'll ever get plus it’s more reliable.
-Risk capacity is real but finite. A venture bet going to zero is a bad year. Size so the worst case costs you a year or two, not a tier demotion.
-Borrow, carefully. SBLOCs work here, just at worse spreads than the private bank crowd gets. Keep LTV under 20% so a drawdown doesn’t become a margin call.
-Skip the fancy structures. Estate exemption is $15m per person. You don't have an estate tax problem, you have an income tax problem. QSBS, solo 401k, tax-loss harvesting, no state tax residency or Puerto Rico if extreme/mobile. Boring, cheap, compounding.
-Claude Max is 0.03% of your net worth. Fading the singularity at this tier is a choice. How to get to the next tier: 👇

Once you sustain above $25m net worth, a lot changes: -Self-funding at a conservative withdrawal rate. A 3% draw is $750k/yr pre-tax, and still about $450k after 40% tax. You never have to sell illiquid/venture positions at the bottom. -Risk capacity. Girthy or illiquid bets that could go to zero become sizing questions rather than survival questions -Borrowing > selling. Securities-backed credit at private-bank spreads pays for life and new deals while gains stay deferred. If you hold until death, the basis step-up erases those gains ("buy, borrow, die") -Structures that pay for themselves. PPLI, exchange funds, CRTs and dynasty trusts carry fixed setup and administration costs that are only worth it around this level -afford Claude Max/ChatGPT Pro with no sweat. Not stuck being a Luddite fading the singularity for 4 straight years Lmk if any other questions 👇

No more fucking around. Demon arc starts now. 🦝 My first challenge on here. Not a bankroll challenge. Not a winrate challenge. A STUDY challenge. 100,000 preflop hands in 30 days. 90% correct. Max 0.5% pot loss. Every spot. I start at 86%. 45+ hour job. A life outside poker. Doesn’t matter. Set the goal so big it scares you. Even if I miss, I end up miles ahead of where “realistic” would have taken me. Every day: one hand I got wrong. You guess first. Hold me to it. Which spot would you drill first?

today marks 1 month of my little self challenge to get back to the top of the heads up food chain after the initial boom and bust, we're pretty much on track all hands played heads up on coinpoker. mostly 10/20 and 25/50, with some 5/10 and 50/100 back up around $30k. but on coin you really have to factor in rewards and bonuses. they're a huge part of the deal. with those we're at $53k (blue line), or around $60k adjusted for all-in ev also switched to @Hand2Note for tracking. works on mac, supports plo4 and plo5, and even tracks rakeback and bonuses as you can see fuck you windows unfortunately most of the biggest losses came at 50/100, the highest stakes i played but oh well i guess theres one thing left to say GucciNike 👀

MAHASAJAN on coinpoker, if you’re reading this, i appreciate you. what a class act i sit at high stakes hu tables, obv leave them unattended often. because… ummm. im a moron the other day MAHASAJAN sits and posts while im away. i time out, lose the blind. have no idea any of this even happened then i get an email from coin saying he sent the money back 20 years ago this would've been considered a mental illness
times have changed player gets grimmed for 1 big blind posts about it on twitter other guy goes yea my bad let me send it back bb returned. everyone friends again mindblowing back then it was the absolute wild west that shit would have been laughed out of the lobby andrew feldman. british guy. the true godfather of bumhunting the euro sites had these high stakes hu sitngos. 10k. 20k. real money and for some insane reason, if a player disconnected while sitting there waiting, the lobby would show it so you could see a crusher sitting a 20k hu sng disconnected click his table game starts nothing he can do and then just blind him out the special thing about our pal andy was that he would do this repeatedly to the same regs he shared lobbies and tables with every day zero shame "see you tomorrow buddy" and yes, i have my own andy story because of that feature i mostly stayed away from the hu sngs but sometimes a whale had been playing them recently, so you sat. waited. hoped one of those days i sat the tables in the morning and started the wait nothing was happening so naturally i decided to use the downtime for some serious self improvement took a nap on the couch wake up to my phone going fucking nuts buddy from finland calling me over and over dude. youre getting blinded into oblivion by haags fuck my life internet is down i run to the neighbors. get online sure enough theres andy and i kid you not, this son of a bitch is clicking raise on the button at the speed of light trying to finish the job and get the fuck out finally i can defend my bb problem is stacks are something like 1k to 19k by now first hand back we get it in double lets motherfucking go still a long way back somehow the deck cooperates and eventually were basically even again and now you could feel it timings. sizings. everything andy is on life tilt he was so fucking close 20k was almost sitting nicely in his piggybank but not so fast jose last hand i still remember i get A♠J♠ flop J♥6♠5♠. top pair. nut flush draw i bet he rips it in almost immediately beautiful only one thing left to do slowroll this fucker into the earth so i tank timebank tank some more right before i hit call i type gg bro. wanna play again? feeling orgasmic call andy turns over 55 set scoops the 20k and disappears and he didnt even say gg

Is @ClearTradeoffs's interview the most popular piece I've ever written?! I don't know, but at 402 readers within a day I am feeling so proud of what he and I created together. I'm going to bed tonight dancing on a cloud of rainbows. Read it here: open.substack.com/pub/roguer…
