A miniquiz around #climateIT we did at yesterday's #DigitalTechSummit here in Copenhagen. Do you know the answer?
The Center for Climate IT presented its approach to #climateIT last week at this very interesting conference that challenged the who and how of scholarly debates. Thank you, organisers, for giving us access to the poetry, songs, walks and talks! #greenconnections2023
Poetry, games, songs, visual art, and action weaved into scholarly debates + practices at our Transformative Connections event last week. Speaking back to environmental destruction and its systems. Voices + articulations that vibrate and make a difference.

We know data are not the magic wand in the fight against climate change, but data products can contribute to climate mitigation efforts. Come listen to Olivier Corradi, CEO of Electricity Maps, to learn more!
"The extreme weather in Spain led to people stealing this public resource"
On friday, we organised a Climate Jeopardy with Astrid Haug for students (congrats hockey stick team!) and launched the new issue of our climate magazine RESET. Read it online here: ccit.itu.dk/-/media/4EE18FDB…

How can the Digital Anthropocene help think through the juxtaposition of planetary concerns and differentiated localised effects? Yesterday CCIT's @jmagitu presented this idea at a talk organised by The German Federation for Civic Education. Watch it here: youtube.com/watch?v=rioff9VY…

I made a new zine all about how ICT climate politics look productively different if we focus less on green consumer behaviours and more on opposing infrastructure expansions.
It's quite fun, and written with a non-academic audience in mind!
emmlab.info/Resources_page/D…

ALT A zine cover with text overtop of a dark blue photo of a data center, shot from the air. The text reads: Getting Into Fights With Data Centres: Or, A Modest Proposal for Reframing the Climate Politics of ICT. Additionally: How to use ping and traceroute to find the location of data centers, and how to look for DRAMA, CONFLICT, and OPPORTUNITIES TO ORGANIZE WITH OTHERS wherever you find them.
More than a third of students starting an IT education at DTU after the summer have done so considering how it can help them contribute to a greener future. They expect to know how specific courses relate to the green transition.

Our colleagues from @TiP_itu launched their beautiful, experimental volume 'Reclaiming Technology: a poetic-scientific vocabulary', where they also touch upon the entanglements of technology and climate. Congratulations to them! Open access here bit.ly/3X9i50B
