Tomorrow, Epsom 2 host Ashtead 1 in a local derby at The Fellowship alongside two other Surrey League matches. It has been a positive start to the season so far, so we're hoping this will continue.

A brilliant night for the club as we score away wins on a cold, rainy Thursday night in two of the Surrey League's furthest-flung places.
Epsom 3 defeated South Norwood 3½-2½ in the Ellam Trophy, whereas Epsom 5 managed a 4½-1½ victory over Dorking 2 in the Minor Trophy.
A blast from the past. An in-play shot from one of our previous venues, Yo Sarnie, a sandwich shop. Note the extremely cramped playing conditions!
A smooth evening for Epsom as we defeated Surbiton 5-1 in the Lauder Trophy quarter-final, to progress to a home semi-final against Streatham. Meanwhile, our Stoneleigh Trophy rapidplay team defeated Chessington 7-1, exceeding the handicap par score for the match.
Tonight, Epsom will host two Surrey League matches as we take on Surbiton in the Lauder Trophy quarter-final and Chessington in the Stoneleigh Trophy. Alongside these fixtures, we will host Club Championship games and rated friendlies in the 'Mike Wickham Trophy'.
The club's Events Manager, Reiko Keen, has stepped down from her role on the Epsom C.C. 'Supreme Committee'. We would like to thank her for all her hard work and will appoint a suitable replacement in due course.
With some of our top juniors having 'graduated' to our adult club over the summer, we are now back to having over 100 pupils in our Thursday junior club.
Epsom C.C. is committed to doing things the right way - nurturing new talent and creating a hub for female chess to grow too.
Epsom recorded its biggest win of the modern era with a 9-1 demolition of Coulsdon in the Alexander (Surrey) Cup last night. In reality however, there were quite a few mismatches.
We must now face Wimbledon away in the semi-final - date to be confirmed.
Tremendous. Well done @SPTWchess!
Hugely proud of @SPTWchess Lionesses A team making their 4NCL Division 1 Debut, with @anishgiri joining in support of the She Plays To Win mission♟️
Eight players. One vision. One team. Come join the movement to give more girls the best opening move in life #AnishGiri
Epsom host Coulsdon tonight over 10 boards in the Alexander (Surrey) Cup quarter-final. We are probably slight favourites, but came unstuck against our opponents at the same stage last season. Will we exact revenge or suffer the same fate.
7.30pm start at The Fellowship.
WFM Shivika Rohilla won the 8th Epsom Rapidplay with a perfect 6/6 score, beating both IM Graeme Buckley and FM Jon Ady, and taking home £150. Epsom junior Chris Lin put in an excellent performance to take the final step on the podium. Leon Kwiatkowski won the U-1200 section.
A bit of a sorry night for Epsom 4 in the Centenary Trophy as they went down 4½-1½. Amusingly, Surbiton's team contained an ex-Epsom player, a current Epsom Junior Chess Club player and a Kingston senior figure!
Final chance to enter this Saturday's Epsom SRCA Rapidplay!

The 4NCL refused to let the UK's only elite women's chess team compete in the top flight as an all-women's team (!), so they enlisted World No. 11 Anish Giri to be the token man on the team! 🤪
CM Reegan Palmer once again showed his prowess at tonight's Epsom October Blitz with a 100% score. FM Peter Lee and 'El Presidente' Marcus Gosling tied for second place a couple of points back.
Epsom member (and chess streamer) Pietro Silke Balerna managed to defeat the legendary Judit Polgár in a simul in Budapest. A result for the ages!

In the Surrey Introductory League, Epsom 'A' defeated Epsom 'B' 2-1. Wins for Maalav Chhaya, George Read and club treasurer Lucy Emery.
