you guys vote for DA and will come on this app and blame everything on immigrants

While I'm not against this suggestion, unemployment rates are too high for us to blame low voter turnout on the retail sector. Even the employed don't vote. They treat this day like a holiday and not a time to perform their civic duty.
EFF’s Treasurer-General, Omphile Maotwe says a total national shutdown will improve voter turnout.

i can’t believe i share a nationality with brazen xenophobes.
In Sudan, the transportation crisis and fuel shortages have made the journey to school a daily challenge for students. Amid this hardship, Sudanese people have taken it upon themselves to use their cars and other means of transport to help students continue their education.

Is Al making life better? NO. Is it making things cheaper? Quite the opposite. Is it improving the internet? It's drowning it in slop. Is it giving us more time to be creative? It's stealing that too.
Surely it's making us smarter, though? Ohhhh, you won't believe this...

…you might not see race, they do.
in july, the public protector found that the DA deliberately prioritised white areas over black communities in terms of service delivery.
Guys we no longer vote based on race, we need services from those we vote for. If they don’t deliver we vote them out and vote someone else in.

To prioritise South Africans we must agree to Afrophobia? To chasing people, abusing families, preventing pregnant women from health care??! Beating up people on the streets? Children leaving school and their homes?

It's a new day. DA likely to lead all the Metros except Durban? Wow. This is what the ANC deserves. I hope this will lead to serious introspection and renewal for them, but I have absolutely zero faith that will happen.

Having spent the last few months campaigning in townships, it’s literally just that people don’t see the point in voting.
They are despondent about the state of affairs and until their material conditions change, we’re going to experience an even further decline in turnout.
Replying to @baddaysareover
AND it seems like voter turnout was low in townships as well.
The reality is that we need to get our people to care about voting & maybe do better to understand why they’re not voting. Is transportation an issue? Are people not getting time off from work?
"I will never vote for poverty"... ja, 'cause if there's one thing you won't find on the Cape Flats, it's poverty 😑

I seem to recall the EFF fighting against the VAT increase, pushing to end data expiry from telecommunications providers, tabling the Insourcing Bill, and tabling the Student Debt Cancellation Bill—all since the 2024 elections . Yet because they don't sing "abahambe," you claim they aren't prioritizing South Africans? Ehh
Eating Halaal, Looking Like Spam retweeted
Rather they’re being honest about their immigration policies while others are shouting Abahambe in the streets and burying their real policy in a manifesto they know no one will read

That department is a joke and that minister is useless.
The Department of Sports, Arts, and Culture, headed up by Minister Gayton McKenzie, incurred R76 million in irregular expenditure for the 2025/26 fiscal year.

This is because most workers are expected to work on holidays Voting Day should be treated like Christmas only essential workers must be working.

This.
At the end of the day, it *costs* to exercise your constitutional right. The dissolution is a reality.

I asked the petrol attendant and shop assistant when they were voting. Both said after 6pm, once their shifts ends.
I hate a system that forces working people to choose between earning a living&exercising their democratic right. Inequality is built into even the simplest things.
