6 weeks ago these @TEAMDISNEYPod KDG students had to practice lining up safely. Now they are rocking the Heart Adventure Course! Kids usually rise to high expectations and sometimes surprise themselves along the way. #proudteachermoment @SPS_PhysEd @CoachBrum

The Arts, PE, etc. as well as recess and play arenβt just important for students to grow emotionally, socially, & academically, but they may be the main reason that some students enjoy coming to school. Lets give them every reason to enjoy school, not take them away.

While on the topic, Physical Education is not recess or free time. It is an academic subject, just like music, band, Arts, etc. And for some, these are the most important subjects.

We spend 50% more hours in school than Finland. And they get 15 mins of recess every hour. They have NO standardized tests except for PISA in HS and they outperform us every time. If we canβt give students more movement, recess, and play time then we donβt understand education.

I especially appreciate strong teachers. If you respect them and give them a voice, you may just find they have great ideas & even when they challenge the process itβs not whining or a personal attack but sincere desire for the best for their students. Appreciate their passion
