Saddened over the passing of Michael Schmeck. One of the good dudes from a good family here in our North Texas baseball community. He enjoyed giving back to the game having been a long-time assistant coach at John Paul II and also coaching in Five Tool events with the Dulins Dodgers. Growing up we always competed with and against each other. Can't tell the story of my life with him in it. So many good memories. As he was laid to rest today, I couldn’t help but think about how much of a positive impact he had on so many in the area. Seeing him in one of our championship photos with his dad by his side helps put a lot of things in perspective. As was said at the service and to quote his favorite movie, “Heroes get remembered, but legends never die.” Rest easy, 21.
