No wonder Deer sacked off @CoachFykling after two comp games if he's this dumb. Addictions are as much a choice as depression and anxiety are 'choices'. The point of the prediction market sponsorships aren't to get you instantly hooked. They are to overtime normalise the idea of Polymarket/prediction markets being part of esports and establishing Polymarket as the only esports prediction market, it's subversive. Example: You're an UK/NLC League fan and you follow @EragonUK and @JamadaLoL you love their content, because they do very average tier 1 costreams with bland comp takes. Suddenly they are posting on your feed about the odds of faker becoming president, over time enough of these posts will warm you up to the idea of using PM because you 'respect' Eragon and Jamadas opinion (these are just two random names I thought of, no idea if they've done PM sponsorships 👀). Gambling sponsorships wouldn't be as problematic, if it was very clear to the audience that the product is gambling. Polymarket and Kalshi are trying to pretend they're not gambling in a very shady way while ignoring issues with matchfixing and money laundering on their platforms. Other gambling platforms have 'responsible gambling' features built-in like self-exclusion and limits. Parasites like Polymarket and Kalshi don't have these. @Kadirlol

You know the economy is bad when esports teams have gamble sponsors, and it’s starting to become more “normal” My dad is a gamble addict, and I can tell you that it doesn’t end well Not for him, and neither for the family I have friends that gambled all their money away, and haven’t recovered yet (years later) All of the people that are taking betting sponsors, are indirectly ruining lives of people that they don’t see I don’t blame anyone for taking a sponsor, especially if it’s out of necessity. but someone that has a insane legacy, is just sad I have personally done speed roulette for fun with friends (god knows why i did it) I woke up every morning without eating breakfast or anything else and I’d spin that shit for hours For some reason I got banned, and I couldn’t play anymore. Then randomly a month after when I was bored I tried to deposit money again (couldn’t) THANK GOD I got somehow blocked, and didn’t look for any alternatives Not everyone will get that lucky, and not everyone can just stop This polymarket that is showing up everywhere is gonna remind people about gambling, and that is very bad. Especially for the people that are genuinely trying to quit Especially with the economy not looking that hot, and inflation is a real thing People will find alternatives to escape reality, and hope they get rich Gambling sadly ain’t it And if you are a gamble addict and you can’t stop it Send your money to a closed one if you have to, think of any way to make it harder for yourself to gamble. And hopefully it’ll get out of your system. Not speaking from experience here. I just know from the people around me how BAD it can get Share this post to spread more awareness. Gambling is VERY scary. it’ll ruin people. And it has already I wasn’t even planning to type this much, but hopefully I can spread awareness to people on how bad these sponsors actually are.
