The Brew Crew is even tougher than I thought. They made good adjustments in their ABs and jumped on the it when Skubs missed his loc. Mis didn’t have his best but got GBs when he needed. Great stuff

Had a great fall competing against multiple college teams! Worked on my approach and hit balls hard to all fields. Class of 2028 MIF/CF @CoachHodes @CoachCardona20 @JHelmbrecht44 @WNYProspects

Velocity without command is an illusion. Padres go to the ninth with a one run lead in a playoff game. Have a dude on the mound with elite velocity and dynamic spin rates. Lead off hitter of the inning gets out. The second hitter walked then stole second base because nobody holds runners and catchers catch on a knee. The third hitter walks. The fourth hitter flies out. The fifth hitter walks. Then the Brewers get the game winning hit. Padres probably win the game if they run someone to the mound that can command the baseball with average velocity.

I am extremely excited and proud to announce my commitment to Keuka College! I would like to thank my family for all the time they have spent at the diamond. All of it has helped me become the player I am today. Lastly I’d like to thank Coach Steve for this opportunity.

Matt Blake, the Yankees pitching coach, told my audience that the best pitchers are the best catch-play guys. , He named Kluber, Tanaka, Cole. Daily catch, done with intent, is where command lives. It is free, and almost nobody treats it as training.

High school baseball is different when it comes to playing time. With a big roster, you can’t just rotate everyone in like football, soccer or basketball. There are only so many innings, at-bats and spots on the field. Not everyone is going to play every game. That’s baseball.

Talent gets way too much credit in baseball. Every year: Talented teams underachieve. Talented players get passed. Less talented players find ways to win. Why? Because talent means nothing without the makeup to maximize it. • Can you compete when you’re uncomfortable? • Can you work when nobody is watching? • Can you respond when the game punches you in the mouth? • Can you hold yourself and your teammates accountable? Talent creates expectations. Standards create results. Read this 10x 💯👆

I see a lot of infield training (drills) online on all apps. Exponentially more than even 5 years ago. Love to see the emphasis on this part of our game. But as important as glove work and footwork are, you better become an elite thrower or it’s all for naught. Throwing accuracy, arm strength, all arm slots, on the run, off balance, out of spins, etc., and every bit of the above on an INF clock of 4.0 or less. Point being… don’t neglect your throwing. Train it as much (or more) than your glove and feet. All aspects of fielding (at or above) game speed. Efficient, short, repeatable arm stroke. Elite throwing skills is a huge separator. @DirtBroUSA @CoachTaberM

Cliff Godwin at East Carolina made a prediction on my show that has stuck with me. The portal will damage summer baseball, because programs will stop sending their best players to leagues where rival coaches can recruit them. He said it knowing it would be unpopular. Six or eight coaches told me the same thing that week. Watch the summer leagues over the next few years.

The Cape Cod Baseball League is drying up. The new college baseball landscape is killing one of the purest forms of baseball this country has ever had to offer. Over 100 years of tradition, ravaged by dollars and cents. What now? Is there a way forward? 👇A FREE read👇

Successful weekend at @PBTCbus with @WNYProspects. Threw a CG with 1ER and 10K for my first time going over 100 pitches on the year. Ended up breaking out of a slump on Saturday and felt confident all weekend. Ready to finish the summer season next weekend at NU.

Staying behind the ball and letting it travel! This is a great drill to use if your player is struggling with pulling their front shoulder out and trying to go get the ball out front with their body. It teaches them to stay back and drive with their backside. If they don’t, it will be difficult to drive the ball to the middle or opposite-field gap. Which is the goal of this drill. #baseball #hitting #fronttoss
