One of the most accurate descriptions regarding QB play……👊💯
I was sitting at the Baccarat Bar at the Wynn recently, visiting with the father of a high school quarterback, discussing QB play. (Great spot, by the way. Highly recommend.) Today, he sent me this video with a simple message: “EXACTLY what we were talking about.” Couldn't agree more. I've watched this happen for over 20 years. We identify quarterbacks with exceptional physical traits, reward them with recruiting rankings, and too often mistake their athletic advantage for mastery of the position. At the high school level, a quarterback can be the best athlete on the field and overcome poor decisions with superior physical ability. But as the competition improves, those advantages narrow. Suddenly, identifying coverage, managing protection, processing progressions, and delivering accurately within a compressed window become the difference between playing quarterback and simply making plays. The concern isn't that we're evaluating physical traits. Those matter. It's that we're often evaluating what is easiest to measure rather than what is most important to project. A 70-yard throw tells me something about arm strength. It tells me very little about whether that quarterback can recognize a rotating safety, eliminate a covered primary, and deliver the ball to his second option before panic sets in. That's the evaluation challenge, and more importantly, the development opportunity. The quarterback position is not a throwing position. It is a command position. Physical talent creates opportunity. Processing, decision-making, and repeatable accuracy determine how effectively that opportunity translates as competition improves.

Agreed……
“Any great player wants to be coached hard. Coaches take players to levels they can’t take themselves. What great player doesn’t want to be coached hard?” Being coachable means caring more about getting better than being right.

This is what coaching is all about. Getting the most out of the talent your team has……
I have a lot of respect for Coach Dillingham for taking complete ownership. This is what leadership looks like.

Absolute facts. Will never change. Nobody is that good……
“I don’t believe you practice poorly and then just play great on game day. I don’t believe that happens and it won’t happen over the course of time,” Lane Kiffin You can’t prepare below the standard and expect to perform above it.

Facts……💯
Kurt Warner shares the lesson that changed his entire career and it applies to everything. He sat on the bench for 4 years in college. When a friend asked the coaches why he wasn't playing, the answer wasn't what he expected: "The reason I wasn't playing was because I was not very good in practice." His first reaction? Allen Iverson mode. "Practice? What're you talking about, practice?" But then he did the math. "In college we play 12 games in 365 days. In the NFL we play 16 games in 365 days." That's less than 5% of your year. "95% of our lives are lived in practice. And the biggest impression we make on people, the way people can understand and really realize who we are, is what we do every day in practice." This is the 95% Rule. And it applies to everything - sports, business, relationships, life. 1: Show Up With Your Best Effort - Compete and give your best every single day. People can't question how you show up - your effort, attitude, and actions. Consistency removes doubt. 2: Trust Is Built In Practice, Not Games - Trust is earned in the thousands of moments before it's given. Before you can be trusted, people want to know you're dependable. Every day. Not just when it matters. 3: Master Daily Consistency - Success isn't about intensity - it's about consistency. Your habits compound. What you do daily defines who you become. 4: Big Moments Are Earned In Small Moments - The little details make the biggest difference. Greatness starts with preparation - it's earned in the boredom of doing the work when no one's watching. Excellence isn't an event - It's a habit. Practice is where trust is built. How you show up daily is who you really are. (🎥 @pttorch) (🎥@kurt13warner)

If you’re not combining a mental rep with the physical part, you’re doing it wrong. Get the most out of every opportunity to get better.
Every rep is a chance to get better. His rep is your rep.

With all the outside things going on now in high school sports, NIL, open and blatant recruiting, no loyalty, selfishness the absolute circus that pop warner is becoming I could go on and on. This is exactly what my Mother just reminded me of, and it is true.
I’ve been 1-9 I’ve been 14-1 I’ve even everywhere in between. 🔑The one thing that remained consistent is the impact you make on the people you coach, and the people you coach with. 👉The wins and losses will fade away, but the impact you have will last forever.

It’s a mindset……💯
Quarterback and QB Parents and coaches never forget: 1) You play the most important and difficult position in sports… therefore it takes unique and special physical and mental talents and dedication…Be prepared 2) Develop a rhythm of preparation, nutrition, sleep, and leadership traits that not only prepare u to be your best but also show your teammates exactly the one human they should follow 3) Prepare for the highs and lows of the job you’ve chosen and been chosen for…Mental prep for a dropped wide open TD pass, booed by your on fans, back to back deflected balls for interceptions, fumble on the goal-line, and the good of 6 TD passes and declared by everyone as the greatest ever, the sudden attraction from wannabe partners and friends who never knew u existed before your rise to popularity…The good is just as difficult to handle as the bad… be prepared 4) Give gratitude… start every am making a list of 3-5 things to be grateful for and every pm repeat…Be conscious about your gratitude and soak it in 5) Life is about living and feeling every emotion… you’ve chosen this journey… embrace the ride And all the emotions that go with it… it’s the best form of living
