Feel the need to address the whirlwind that is the Ohio State fan base at the moment. It is completely okay to critique a team and their performance, that doesn’t make someone a “fringe fan.” Sometimes a take someone has might be more emotional or stupid, but people have bad takes all the time, me included. That’s just the internet. Where I have issue with it is when these opinions become absolutes and after a single bad game from a player, a “fan” gives up on them, or after a rough loss you go after Ryan Day and automatically say he’s not fit to be the head coach. The dude that literally brought a National Championship to Columbus less than 2 years ago, and people think he’s a bad coach after losing by 1 point to Texas. Then the people that are actually coming at the players personally and their families, they’ve been doing it for years. I’ve got a list of death threats from every bad game I’ve ever played in, that’s just a sad group of people with nothing better to do in their lives and we shouldn’t give them the attention. We can hoot and holler all we want about what players are doing good, who should get more playing time, what the team needs to do better, but as long as it never devolves into personal attacks, completely giving up on players and coaches, and these egregiously premature notions that this is a bad team literally 3 weeks into the season, then it’s all good. Okay to point out the flaws, still celebrate the wins. This is a national championship level squad and there’s no other team and group of guys I’d go to bat for. Buckeyes
