One of the most baffling things to me is how kids play club ball damn near year round and come to HS tryouts not knowing how to dribble, pass or even make an uncontested layup .

Hands down the most not fun day of coaching

The absolute WORST part of coaching is finalizing your roster knowing some kids are going to be crushed, then the wildly nasty emails from parents who don’t realize how gut wrenching that cut may have been for the coaches already. Smdh

The people spoke loud today!

Many thanks to @coachnowlin and the many AFUHSD team members that put on a great Veterans Day Ceremony today. It was great reconnecting with old friends we served with and meeting other Vets that dedicate time to serve the students and community in the district.

One day in my coaching journey, 3 Tyrese Maxeys will walk in my gym. Amen.

Kids over 6 feet that go to the same public Hs for 4 years are quickly becoming unicorns.

I don’t know how there’s ever a shortage of refs and coaches…there’s so many in the stands.

Hats off to Maryvale and Copper Canyon coaches. Scuffle breaks out at the end of the game and both staffs check their players mid field and make them line up and shake hands. Nobody is gonna die in a handshake line, teach kids the importance of taking a L like they take a W.

I don’t know their names but the trio of #1,#4 and #6 at Maryvale is as good if not better than a lot of these other football teams in the states impact players.

Historically good to great pitching…bipolar bats in the playoffs. This is life as an Atlanta Braves fan

Parents yelling “all they wanna do is pass and run the ball” is why I typically just sit away from everyone at football games. Lol

This is the wildest AZ Hs football season I’ve witnessed in my 5 years living here

The next great Head Coach is an assistant on someone’s staff right this very moment. (Any sport) Head Coaches if you feel they can do 80% of the job you can do, give them an opportunity to fail w/ more responsibility. Their desire is like yours once was. They will seek opportunity
