Go Senators!!
Highlights from last week's game Risky Business from @pe2themax
It's amazing how much students will participate if there is a simple award attached.
A simple game that encourages goal setting, teamwork, and strategy. It is also great for younger grades to practice working with money.

Focus On The Step!
This week our focus with overhand throwing was on our FIRST STEP with the opposite foot.
Overemphasizing the first step helps to create:
- Rhythm and Timing
- Momentum Towards Our Target
- More Accuracy With Our Throw
- Hip Rotation, Which Means More Power!
I have also noticed that when we focus on the first step, it cleans up a lot of mechanical issues the students have with their overhand throw, and helps to create a more fluid motion.

We can’t have a good first month of the school year without playing Boom City!
I believe when these students get older and think back to their elementary PE days, this will be one of their favorite games they played.

Check out this AWESOME video from @TowneAcres_JCS PE teacher Corey Moser. Do you think these students are having fun!?
Finished up our bowling unit. Grades 2nd-5th played a standard game while using an iPad to keep score, and K-1st played Bowling Bingo.
The students had a blast and it was fun teaching how to properly keep score.
Check out @pe4everykid for all his bowling resources!

Build-A-Thrower with 2nd grade. Partners work together “building” a good thrower. Great teamwork and reinforcement of overhand throwing cues. Thanks @CoachMoserPE #physed
Last week before Thanksgiving and we are playing a game from @pe2themax called Quick Six.
The students love the idea of earning a card by rolling a Quick Six and they don’t even notice how many laps they are running! 😂

First week back highlights!
After reviewing procedures/rules/expectations we played two ice breaker games:
Crazy Card Challenge from @thepespecialist
Head Honcho from @pe2themax
Got my shirt in the mail yesterday. Thanks @thepespecialist for the awesome design! The students love it.
Trying to create and incorporate more animated GIFs into my lessons since getting the TV on the wall! This has been great for conveying instructions and feedback for students!
S/o to @simmonsjo44 for his top notch passing ability!
This week in PE we are playing a game from @pe2themax called “NBAced It”.
A great way to practice dribbling, passing and shooting while trying to earn points!
