Proud of these seniors @Branhamfootball . It has not been easy, but watching these guys overcome adversity and share their personal experiences with our brotherhood last night was so special. Thank you seniors for #LeadingTheWay ! 🐻

Do your job. Nobody forced you to take it. Head coach, do your job. Assistant, do your job. Athletes, do your job. If someone isn’t doing their job, either show them how or find someone who will. It’s not rude to expect people to do their job. It’s a sign of weakness to never ask them to.

Michigan safety Mason Curtis on defensive coordinator Jay Hill:
"To be honest, he helps us learn the game. It's not just about defense; it's about football. He takes us into the offensive coordinators' minds, tells us why they're running this, what they're looking at, who they're trying to put in conflict. He's just a smart coach."

This is how I always viewed coaching.
Every season is different. Different players. Different strengths. Different challenges.
My job wasn’t to force every team to look the same.
My job was to get the absolute most out of the team and talent we had.
For me, that came down to three things:
1. Build the culture.
2. Develop leaders.
3. Find the strategy that gives THIS team the best chance to win.
You don’t coach the team you wish you had.
You coach the team you have.
Great coaching is figuring out what your team can become, and then helping them get there.
