🎯 Make it make sense
We expect more out of you, and will not be compensating you for it.
You’ll be held to a higher standard, be responsible for an expensive vehicle, and the lives of some 50 souls on board.
You’ll drive this oversized, under maintained vehicle early before school, after school (maybe even pulling you out of practice… the very thing you’re applying to do), and late nights after games. You’ll do it on limited sleep, but we’ve opened you up to severe punishment by the DMV if you make a mistake while driving.
You’re expected to drive pre-game. We don’t care if it interferes with your ability to mentally prepare for the game. You’ll drive post-game. We don’t care if you’re riding an emotional roller coaster, coming off an adrenaline rush from a victory or upset due to a loss.
You’ll gladly jump into this role without the compensation or we’ll deduct your already minuscule wages.

Some of the D1 programs in Texas that have winning records have previously hired former high school staff. The ones that don’t, well just look at their records.
Really goes to show the reach, coach ability, and the relationships that’re built to create good college programs.
I've given everything I could to these exams. Exhausted all options, and tried all different methods and resources to pass. At the end of the day I can at least say I tried and I made an impact in kids lives in the process. Good thing I got 3 different degrees.

Let’s normalize NOT posting jobs when you have a qualified candidate inside! Admin and board members want to see what big names apply, waste good coaches time, and then hire the guy they should’ve in the first place. Two birds one stone!

Focus on what you can control. Control the controllables.
It’s not only who you know, but who wants you to GROW. Those are the ones that’ll show action to do what they can to propel you to higher heights for more opportunities and experiences.
