If you can’t fly, then run. If you can’t run, then walk. If you can’t walk, then crawl. But whatever you do, you have to keep MOVING FORWARD! #MLKDay 🤎

Love this, coach. I’d love to hear more thoughts on this myself! Anybody?!
T@CoachT_27 Aug 2023
I’m not against transferring but I never understood transferring after your freshman year just cause you didn’t play. After being in the program a year and learning the defense surely you should be in a better position year two, right? What’s your thoughts about this?

Toughest thing to wait your turn in a society where access is so easy. Best thing to I’ve learned from this game is to accept your role but never settle for your current one. The best teams have a team full of dudes with this mentality.

In my 20 years as a college bball coach… #1 mistake recruits make in the decision making process is putting to much priority on playing as a freshman. Nothing wrong with paying your dues and competing for a spot. It’s hard to play as a true freshman on a good team! #truth

Well said, coach. I agree!

For the fourth year in a row the best D3 team in the country is in VA. The state is loaded with elite D3 coaches and great jobs but that also speaks to how deep the talent in the state is and how much of it is overlooked by D1 and D2 programs.

My guy! This didn’t happen by chance, your hard work & dedication made this happen. I knew that from our first phone call that late spring. Proud of you!

“I’m just a kid that played Division 3 basketball. I’m a nobody. To get this opportunity to come to Marquette. Be part of this proud program… and to win a championship in the Garden. Nothing better.” @CoachShakaSmart is the real deal. #ShakaTheWorld

The freshmen, Joshua Stephen, hit the buzzer beater for Shenandoah yesterday that gave the visiting Hornets the win over Lynchburg. Stephen, out of Virginia Beach (Salem) scored a career high 27 & shared thoughts with me afterwards. @SUHornets travels to Randolph Macon, on Wed

I wish my HS coach brought me to a game. I learned quickly the first day of practice!

I say this every time I go to a #d3hoops game like this one: if you're a high school ballplayer who thinks you're too good to play at this level, come see a game. These dudes are really good.
