UTEP men’s basketball media availability day! Got to catch up with UTEP head coach Joe Golding after their back-to-back wins in secret scrimmages against UTSA and Texas A&M Corpus Christi, respectively.

A new face for UTEP men's basketball! UTEP forward Ivan Perasovic (6-foot-8) is a Croatia native, who spoke with the media today. He has six seasons of professional experience in the Adriatic League (ABA) with KK Split (2020-22, 2025-26) and Cibona (2022-25). He appeared in 115 total games during that span, scoring 502 points and grabbing 265 rebounds while shooting better than 50% from the field (198-of-389). Perasovic represented Croatia at the 2018 FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup. His father, Velimir Perasovic, was a member of the silver medal-winning 1992 Croatian Olympic team that faced the USA Dream Team in the gold-medal game, playing alongside Toni Kukoc and Drazen Petrovic, and also won the 1990 FIBA World Cup with Yugoslavia alongside Vlade Divac. The 24-year-old freshman has been cleared by the NCAA and will be a contributor for this year's squad.

UTEP sophomore guard Cam McDaniels (6-foot-5, 220) spoke with the media on Tuesday. The JUCO guard averaged 17.4 points and 5.1 rebounds while starting 23 of 29 games last season at John A. Logan College. He was named a second-team NJCAA All-American, Great Rivers Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year and an All-Region 24 selection. McDaniels selected UTEP over offers from East Carolina, UAB, CSUN, Delaware, Eastern Kentucky, FAMU, Grambling State, Southern, Southern Indiana and UTA. He joins a fully rebuilt UTEP roster under head coach Joe Golding entering the program’s first season in the Mountain West Conference.

UTEP redshirt senior guard Reese Miller (6-foot-5), a Round Rock, Texas native, spoke with the media today. Miller was the leading scorer at William & Mary last season (12.1 points per game). He is going to be a significant contributor to the backcourt this year.
