Easternmost part of North Aurora is over 35 miles from Mt. Carmel. Either we have rules or we don't.
Mount Carmel's Jordan Lynch: “These kids and these parents have a choice. For them to pass up a school in their district and come to Mount Carmel and pay tuition speaks volumes. And I think you need to check your own programs. Why are kids passing up your school? They have a choice."

No issue with parents deciding to send their kids to private schools. The issue is with the @IHSA_IL rule that is crystal clear: students must live within a 30 mile radius of the school to be eligible for athletics. MC published a media guide that acknowledges breaking the rule.

@jakebuckley52 !! Nobody works harder or is a better teammate!! Looking forward to watching him on the football field at North Central!!
A rotational staple for @KanelandBBall in the regular season, @jakebuckley52's postseason playing time took a hit.
That changed in a big way in the 3A third-place game, as Buckley had a big hand in helping Kaneland beat Leo.

You dont see many kids these days love just being apart of the team. Buck is the heart beat of KHS & a great example of our student body. He never cared about playing time, stats, or if he was in the starting 5. Athletics needs more Jake Buckley’s. ⚔️🏀 @KHS_Knights @Kaneland302
After being a rotational staple for Kaneland in the regular season, Jake Buckley's postseason playing took major hit. But that changed in a big way in the 3A third-place game, as the senior forward had a big hand in helping the Knights beat Leo 35-32.

Kaneland's Ernie Colombe on senior Jake Buckley:
"Jake has played three sports for four years and does the morning announcements. I’ve been teaching for 29 years and he has gotten more out of his high school experience than any kid I’ve had."

Multi-sport experience is great for youth development. But . . . it has near-zero effect on whether an athlete goes Division I. Same with sport specialization. Near zero effect.
Athletes that go Division I in any sport were already the best athletes in their town, city, state.

❤️
This was heartbreaking for Edwards who grew up in Illinois.
Very few billionaires would do this.

When you first start trying to be recruited, ALL interest is good interest - NAIA, DIII/DII, JUCO - answer everyone. Don't try just the FCS/FBS accounts. Non-DI coaches are easier to directly connect with and thus get more genuine feedback from.
